We had an amazing Karate Grading Day at St Mary’s! 🥋
Our learners were graded from White Belt to Yellow Belt and to Advanced Belts. Each belt represents growth in skill, discipline, and character. 🥋✨Congrats to all learners who got graded!
What the belt grades mean:
In Karate, belts show a learner’s progress, skill level, and understanding.
1. White Belt → Yellow Belt
The first big step. White belt = beginner, learning basics: stance, respect, discipline, and fundamental punches/kicks. Moving to Yellow belt means they’ve mastered the basics and are ready for more techniques, forms, and responsibility.
2. Advanced Belt
Students who have moved beyond beginner levels. They’ve shown more control, stronger technique, knowledge of kata/forms, sparring, and the core values of karate: respect, focus, and perseverance. Each higher belt brings new challenges and leadership expectations.
So basically: more skill + more knowledge + more discipline = next belt đź’Ş
Parent support matters — when you show up, learners see that their effort is valued.
A huge thank you to all parents who came through to support and learn about the Karate stages and grading process. Your presence inspires our learners!
