On Thursday 16th of July, Seepapitso Senior Secondary School was honored to receive building materials valued at P30,047.00 as part of the "Ke Abela Sekolo" drive, a collaborative initiative powered by FNB BOTSWANA FOUNDATION and EIMC.

The event began with a community service campaign, where staff and management from both FNB Botswana and EIMC joined our school community in a litter-picking exercise.

This was followed by the removal of damaged glass from classrooms, paving the way for the installation of new window panes and doors.

During the proceedings, Ms. Bonolo Molebatsi, FNB Botswana Service Advisor, noted that the FNB Foundation is committed to supporting communities nationwide. She emphasized that schools were prioritized this year to ensure students are protected from harsh weather conditions, noting that many classrooms had previously lacked functional doors and windows.

For his part, Mr. Tebogo Sebego, Board Chairman of EIMC, shared that while he could have launched the initiative anywhere in the country, he chose Seepapitso for two meaningful reasons. First, he wished to highlight the successful partnership between the private sector and the government in delivering essential projects. Secondly, as an alumnus of the school, he felt a deep sense of nostalgia and a duty to return to his roots. Mr. Sebego stressed that by focusing on basic infrastructure like windows and doors, they aim to create a space that is truly habitable and conducive to academic success.

The SRC President, Ms. Gontle Keagile, expressed the school's gratitude for being selected from among hundreds of institutions. She highlighted the positive impact this will have on the learning environment and committed the SRC to leading advocacy against vandalism, ensuring that the school community takes collective ownership of these new facilities. Ms. Keagile added that seeing an alumnus like Mr. Sebego return to serve his alma mater serves as a profound inspiration for the current student body to one day give back to their own community.

Appreciation for the Ke Abela Sekolo Initiative

On behalf of the administration, staff, and students of Seepapitso Senior Secondary School, we extend our deepest gratitude to the FNB Botswana Foundation and EIMC for your generous contribution of building materials and labour.

Your investment in our infrastructure—specifically the replacement of windows and doors—addresses a critical need and significantly improves the dignity and safety of our learning environment.

We are particularly moved by the commitment shown by your teams during the litter-picking and site preparation activities.

Mr. Tebogo Sebego’s return to his alma mater serves as a powerful testament to the value of education and the importance of civic responsibility. We are proud to partner with organizations that prioritize the well-being of our youth. Thank you for choosing Seepapitso and for your dedicated service to the nation of Botswana

Sincerely,

Seepapitso Senior Secondary School
