💥Go nna motsadi kana ke kgwetlho bathong, especially if you grew up with compromised connection with your parents or guardian: Societal challenges such as growing up without father figures, losing parents at a young age, being a victim or witness of domestic violence, are some of the challenges that we go through as children that we don't realise how much they affect our mental health and relationships now as adults, especially romantic relationships and parenting.

But today let me focus on parenting

💥Often than not, we find ourselves over compensating for what we lacked or was done to us as children in this parenting space. This denied us an opportunity to be present and respond to our children/situations as they trully are. Rather we act from a space of unresolved childhood trauma.

💥Sometimes we can even find ourselves unconsciously abusing our own kids because of low self esteem, anger or from repeating how we were parented.

💥This is why go le botlhokwa to take care of our mental health tota as parents to a point of going for therapy if need be.
