Our CEO and Founder of ASIE Honourable Councilor Oliver Junior Ramaabya is continuing to call for increased investment and partnership in improving quality education in Botswana as he is hosting the 2nd edition of ASIE Quiz Competition under Development Studies.
The Learning Crisis:
Honourable Dr Oliver Junior Ramaabya points to the alarming statistic that 70% of 10-year-olds in low-income countries cannot understand a basic text. He also notes that millions of children and young people are out of school, and that the quality of education, even in developed countries, often reproduces inequalities.
Financing Gap:
A major obstacle to achieving quality education is the significant annual financing gap, particularly in low and middle-income countries. Our CEO Ramaabya urges governments to prioritize education and find innovative financing solutions to bridge this gap.
Transforming Education:
Honourable Dr Oliver Junior Ramaabya advocates for a "dramatic shift" in how education is approached.
