LEDUMADUMANE JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL (JSS) – MOGODITSHANE
(Friday, 10 October 2025)
The Portia Chipaladza – Tobedza National Readership Campaign, 10th YEAR ANNIVERSARY Special Series, toured Ledumadumane Junior Secondary School (JSS), in the peri urban village of Mogoditshane, located at the outskirts of Gaborone City.
Although, we often get great reception and attention from almost all schools we visit, Ledumadumane students will go down our memory lane as the most attentive group of a young audience I have ever addressed. Yes, I experienced 100% signal, for the entire length of my speech, and it was so cool and inspiring. I commend both the students and the school authorities for such a unique culture.
More than 900 students attend Ledumadumane Junior School.

MOSELEWAPULA JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL (JSS) – GABORONE WEST, PHASE 2
(Thursday, 9 October 2025)
This morning, the Portia Chipaladza – Tobedza National Readership Campaign, 10th YEAR ANNIVERSARY Special Series, toured Moselewapula Junior Secondary School (JSS), in the suburb of Gaborone West Phase 2.
The Campaign went down exceptionally well and became part of a unique event the school was running in celebration of the International School Library Month that falls in month of October, annually. Today they were doing book tasting – amazing concept – where a mock restaurant was set up and students passed through ‘tasting’ books and giving brief reviews as feedback for the respective sampled menus. It was a cool thing to happen by!
859 students attend school Moselewapula Junior Secondary.

(Thursday, 2 October 2025)
The Portia Chipaladza – Tobedza National Readership Campaign, special series was back in the mighty village of Molepolole, where it was hosted by Tshegetsang Junior Secondary School (JSS), a learning destination for 758 students.
We were received by a wonderfully decorated venue, courtesy of Mrs Modiakgotla, who decided to donate her part time passion – interior décor - for the event. Her jovial supervisor, Mr Moeng, Senior – Teacher Library and event facilitator, was as extremely impressed by this gesture as we were.
As usual, we left the students and their teachers touched by both our avid readership message and the book donation that honoured selected individuals and the school library.

MONTSHIWA JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL (JSS) – GOODHOPE
(Friday, 26 September 2025)
The Portia Chipaladza – Tobedza National Readership Campaign, special series, this morning, landed at Montshiwa Junior Secondary School (JSS). An 811-student school, run by a strong 83 staff complement, Montshiwa JSS is located in Pitsane village, about 30 kilometres from Lobatse town.
We were inspired by the high levels of self-esteem demonstrated by the young learners' choices of dream careers that they shared when asked what they aspired to become in the world of work! We were, thus, assured that the message we brought them was sown on fertile ground.
To top it all off, the school head and his staff expressed: “great appreciation of this tremendous intervention”.

NTHWALANG JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL (JSS) – GOODHOPE
(Thursday, 25 September 2025)
The Portia Chipaladza – Tobedza National Readership Campaign, special series visited Nthwalang Junior Secondary School (JSS), a boarding school attended by a whopping 988 students, and located in Digawana village, around 15 kilometres from the town of Lobatse.
Opened in 1992, the school has interesting history, having, at one point nurtured both Dr. Dikoloti, the esteemed acting Minister of Agriculture and Botswana’s Golden Athlete Letsile Tebogo. It was a great honour to pass through such a place.
Another exciting factor about the school is their attention to student leadership grooming. Nthwalang is the first school we have been to where the student body’s President has four (4) Vice Presidents, one for each of the school’s four houses. The quiet and attentive disposition consistently displayed by the students throughout our event said something about the effectiveness of this leadership approach. The school authorities are commended for this out of the box thinking, as well as the warm hospitality accorded the Portia Chipaladza-Tobedza National Readership Campaign. And a special mention to the efficient facilitation of the event coordinator, Madam Lekwape, the School's Senior Teacher Librarian.
