Globally, the average age of farmers is 60 years old, and young people are increasingly pursuing nonagricultural careers rather than following in the footsteps of their parents and grandparents. Youth who try to venture into the sector, face many challenges and each of those challenges is complex, hence requiring multifaceted solutions to help youth see the value and potential of pursuing a career in agriculture

The purpose of this event among others, is to bring into focus what needs to be done in order to encourage and motivate Batswana, especially the youth, to exploit the different small stock value chains. The event is made up of workshops, demonstrations, presentations, exhibitions and sales and auctions.
