Synopsis:
Since 2014, in France, Restorative Justice has offered victims and perpetrators of offences the opportunity to dialogue through secure systems, supervised by professionals and volunteers such as Judith, F***y or Michel. Nassim, Issa, and Thomas, sentenced for theft with violence, Gregoire, Nawelle and Sabine, victims of home jacking, robbery and purse snatching. Also Chloe, victim of incestuous r**e, all engage in measures of Restorative Justice. On their journey, there is anger and hope, silence and words, alliances and heartbreaks, awareness and regained confidence. And at the end of the road, sometimes, reparation.

Looking back at one of the major milestones of Création Botswana Season 1: the Final Collection Runway Show.

Throughout the programme, the eight designers of Cohort 2 developed new collections for their upcoming showcases in France. Before travelling, they unveiled their work to a Botswana audience at a professionally produced runway show held at the French Residence during the 2025 Bastille Day celebration.

Produced by world-renowned fashion expert Jean-Marc Chauve alongside Botswana’s own Tumelo Nkwe of Nkwe Productions, the show brought each designer’s creative vision to life before the collections travelled to France for Paris Fashion Week and the wider France Learning Expedition.

Lucara Botswana also showcased jewellery by international luxury brand Messika — an exciting connection between Season 1 and this year’s focus on jewellery design and manufacturing.

Création Botswana was created to support its selected participants, but we have always believed that its impact should extend beyond the programme.

Throughout Season 1, we hosted free monthly public masterclasses, giving Botswana’s wider fashion, creative and business community access to practical knowledge, fresh perspectives and opportunities to learn from local, regional and international experts.

As we look back at these moments, we are also looking forward to continuing our public masterclasses in Season 2, with sessions for those involved or interested in jewellery making, accessories and business development.
