Dear Parents/Guardians

Naledi Senior Secondary School has been identified as one of the venues for the 2026 National Music Competitions scheduled for Saturday, 22 August 2026.

Please note that today, Thursday 20 August, learners will be dismissed at the normal time of 16:00hrs.

For Friday, 21 August, learners who are NOT writing Mock Examinations will NOT be required to attend school.

Form 5 Art students are expected to attend.

Lessons resume on Monday, 24 August 2026.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.

Learners will be given letters to take home to their parents/guardians with the full details of the arrangement.

Last week Thursday, 25 girls and 25 boys from our school attended the Men’s Conference on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) at Assemblies of God Gaborone, held under the theme “Guardians of Dignity: Men Rising for Safe Families and Communities.”

The event, hosted by Assemblies of God - Gaborone Assembly in collaboration with the Evangelical Fellowship Botswana (EFB) and Warriors in Christ Kingdom, created a platform for meaningful conversations around GBV and the role of men in building safer families and communities.

The event was graced by Minister of Youth and Gender Affairs, Hon. Lesego Chombo, who engaged learners on GBV, responsible manhood, emotional well-being and the importance of creating safer communities.

On Friday, 25 boys participated in a dedicated boys’ session featuring panel discussions, where they openly shared their concerns, perspectives and asked meaningful questions about GBV and the role young men can play in preventing it.

It was inspiring to see our learners engage, listen and reflect. Change begins with conversations🫶🏽

Last Friday, we were privileged to receive a generous donation from Boitekanelo College consisting of 40 boxes of photocopying paper and 40 packs of lined paper.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Boitekanelo College for this thoughtful contribution. Essential stationery supplies such as these are vital to our daily operations. This generous support ensures that our students and staff have the necessary materials to teach, learn, write, and carry out daily administrative tasks without interruption.

We are also delighted that Boitekanelo College pledged to support our SPED (Special Education) students, a commitment that will make a meaningful difference in their educational journey.

During the school vacation, Naledi Senior School STEAM Club, popularly known as “Steamaholics,” participated in the AI4Good Incubator 2026 Boot Camp held at Botswana Open University (BOU) from Monday to Friday last week. The team proudly scooped a bronze medal out of nine competing schools, including BOU. These achievements were made possible under the dedicated guidance of Mr. Gasenna and Mma Baleseng.

Again, on Friday, seven girls participated in the Women in Engineering Roundtable event, accompanied by Mr. Monyake, where they gained valuable insights into career pathways in STEM/STEAM fields, mentorship opportunities, and the importance of female representation in technical industries.
