To Promote and Develop Sustainable Farming Practices Through Learn, Grow, Prosper Together
To Encourage "Eat Local Grown" CONSERVATION FARMING was that medium.
Conservation Farming Botswana was founded by Stanley Martin in 2017 after years of working in community development. It has evolved with the tomes and changes to become today's CLIMATE SMART AGRICULTURE Botswana. Whilst working extensively in communities in need It became apparent that farming was indeed a model for poverty reduction and increased nutrition with food security when challenges were
identified, addressed and mitigated. His personal vision of "GROW TO EAT, GROW TO SELL" required and medium to carry it to success. Many of the programs available marginalized the beneficiaries by status, income, level of poverty and or other criteria which excluded many potential game changers from receiving vital assistance. "CONSERVATION FARMING BOTSWANA" was founded on the basis of listening to many people in poverty, many young budding farmers and existing small holder farmers were all looking for the same thing. Knowledge, Skills Sharing and or Mentoring. Having been trained in Conservation Agriculture(CA) by Foundations For Farming then developing a model and course for people in poverty, Stanley realized Conservation Agriculture had a bigger stake in the overall fight against poverty by empowering anyone who wished to venture into it. The reasoning behind breaking the normal "in poverty/in need model"
was that helping a person in poverty within the community with skills and this a single family was only half as effective as helping an already empowered person to achieve their farming dream creating employment opportunities and local micro economies. With this in mind, CLIMATE SMART AGRICULTURE BOTSWANA exits to capacity build the community at large with skills and knowledge that empower them to fight poverty in their own communities whilst creating employment opportunities in the same communities.
