Brief History:
Bayta, name of the place is derived from the word BUE TAA (combination of snake [BUE] and Horse [TAA]).
In the fifteen century the zone was ruled by local divinity and it harmed the community frequently whenever he was not pleased with the communal settler. It was said that the divinity transformed into three forms namely Snake while coming from a Place called Khewang just one kilometer away from the present place where the School is located at the junction of the school, it turned into horse and in
to yak head when reached Lawola. Depicting the performance of the divinity, it was named BUE TAA but now it is called Bayta because of the phonological changes. Bayta Primary School, which covers the total area of 5.63 acres became the place of learning in 2005 with 12 students at Pre-primary that captured Gangtey, Phobjikha and Bjena and acted as their Centre of learning. Laxuman Gurung served as the Principal cm teacher during the inception of the school and the people of this community refer to him as the founder of the school. In 2006, it was upgraded with class III for the convenience of the community around the vicinity of the school. Thus, it eased the students who needed to walk to Phobjikha Primary School to study(Three KMs from the Bayta). He kept on upgrading every year until class VI. He severed in the school for eleven long years till 2015. From the beginning of 2016, Tshering Dorjee took over the charge of the school till date as the Principal.
