ཀ་རྩོམ་བླ་མ་རྒྱང་འབོད་བཞུགས། །
Alphabetical Prayer: Calling the Guru from Afar
ཀ་དག་སྤྲོས་བྲལ་ཞིང་ནས། ། ཁ་དོག་འོད་ལྔའི་ཀློང་ན། ། ག་ལེར་བརྩེ་བས་གཟིགས་པ། ། ང་ཡི་དྲིན་ཆེན་བླ་མར། ། གསོལ་བ་སྙིང་ནས་འདེབས་སོ། ། བྱིན་རླབས་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ་ཅིག །
From the realm of original purity (Kadag), free from conceptual elaboration, Within the expanse of five-colored light, Gently gazing with boundless compassion— To my gracious Root Guru, I pray from the depth of my heart: Bestow your blessings and supreme accomplishments!
ཅ་ཅོའི་གདུང་བས་དབྱངས་ཀྱི། ། ཆ་བྱད་དཔའ་མོའི་གར་གླུ། ། ཇ་ཆང་བདུད་རྩི་སྨན་དང་། ། ཉ་མོའི་ལུས་རྩལ་མཆོད་དོ། ། བསོད་ནམས་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྫོགས་པར། ། རྩ་བའི་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
With melodies expressed through fervent longing, Adorned in the dance and song of the dakinis, I offer tea, sacred alcohol, nectar, medicine, And the graceful, agile movements of a fish. To perfect the accumulations of merit and wisdom, Root Guru, hold me in your wisdom!
ཏཱ་ཐ་གཱ་ཏའི་དགོངས་དོན། ། ཐ་མལ་རྗེས་འཇུག་བདག་ལ། ། ད་ལྟ་ཉིད་དུ་འཕོས་ནས། ། ན་ཚ་ཉེན་མོངས་སྐྱོབས་མཛོད། ། ལྟ་བའི་ངོ་སྤྲོད་གནང་བར། ། རྩ་བའི་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
May the core intent of the Tathāgata Be transferred right now into me, an ordinary follower, Protecting me from sickness and afflictions. To grant the direct introduction to the ultimate View, Root Guru, hold me in your wisdom!
པ་ར་མི་ཏའི་ལམ་ནས། ། ཕ་རོལ་ཁྲིད་པའི་དེད་དཔོན། ། བ་དན་མཁའ་ལ་གཡོ་ནས། ། མ་རིག་མུན་པ་སེལ་བ། ། སྒོམ་པའི་རྩལ་ཆེན་རྫོགས་པར། ། རྩ་བའི་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
You are the captain who guides beings across through the path of the Pāramitās, Fluttering victory banners in the sky to dispel the darkness of ignorance. To perfect the great strength of meditation practice, Root Guru, hold me in your wisdom!
ཙ་མ་ར་ཡི་བསིལ་གཡབ། ། ཚ་གྲང་འཇིགས་སྐྱོབ་བཞིན་དུ། ། ཛ་ཡནྟུ་ཞེས་བསྐུལ་བས། ། ཝ་བཞིན་དབེན་པའི་གནས་ལ། ། སྤྱོད་པའི་བོགས་ཆེན་འབྱོངས་པར། ། རྩ་བའི་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
Like a cooling fly-whisk fan protecting against the dread of heat and cold, Invoking victory (Jayantu), May I dwell in solitary retreats like a fox To master the great enhancement of Yogic conduct! Root Guru, hold me in your wisdom!
ཞྭ་བཞིན་བླ་མ་གཙུག་ཏུ། ། ཟ་བཅའ་ཚོགས་མཆོད་བཞེས་ཞིག ། འ་ཅག་སློབ་འབངས་ཐམས་ཅད། ། ཡ་གིའི་ཐར་གླིང་ཁྲིད་ནས། ། ངན་སོང་སྐྱེ་སྒོ་ཆོད་པར། ། རྩ་བའི་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
Wearing the Guru at the crown of my head like a crown jewel, Please accept this feast offering (Ganachakra) of food and drink! Guide all of us, your devoted disciples, to the realm of liberation above, Closing the doors to rebirth in lower realms. Root Guru, hold me in your wisdom!
ར་བ་གངས་རི་བསྐོར་བའི། ། ལ་ལུང་གང་ན་འདུག་ཀྱང་། ། ཤ་ཚ་གཞན་ལ་ཕན་པའི། ། ས་ཐོབ་སེམས་པའི་འགྲོ་དོན། ། འབྲེལ་ཚད་དོན་དང་ལྡན་པར། ། རྩ་བའི་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
Wherever we reside among the mountain passes and valleys enclosed by snow peaks, With genuine warmth and affection that benefits others, May I fulfill the purpose of beings like a high-level Bodhisattva, Making every connection meaningfully transformative. Root Guru, hold me in your wisdom!
ཧ་ཅང་མན་ངག་ཟབ་མོ། ། ཨ་ཏི་རྫོགས་པ་ཆེན་པོ། ། གཅིག་ཤེས་ཀུན་གྲོལ་ལམ་མཆོག ། གུ་ཡངས་བླ་བདེ་ཐོག་ནས། ། འོད་གསལ་མངོན་དུ་འགྱུར་བར། ། རྩ་བའི་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
Through the extraordinarily profound pith instructions Of Ati Dzogchen—the Great Perfection— The supreme path where knowing one frees all, Within state of vast openness and effortless ease, May the Luminosity (Clear Light) be fully actualized! Root Guru, hold me in your wisdom!
