ཨོ་རྒྱན་རྗེ་དང་དཔའ་བོ་མཁའ་འགྲོའི་ཚོགས། །
མཁྱེན་ནོ་འཆི་ཁར་གནད་གཅོད་སྡུག་བསྔལ་སེལ། །
རོལ་སྒྲ་མེ་ཏོག་ཆར་འབེབས་མདུན་དུ་བསུས། །
ཨོ་རྒྱན་མཁའ་སྤྱོད་ཞིང་དུ་ལམ་སྣ་དྲོངས། །

ཚེས་བཅུའི་ཉིན་མི་སྨྱོན་གསང་བདག་པས།

རང་ཉིད་ཉམ་ཆུང་ཆེ་དྲགས་ན། །
If one becomes excessively meek and self-effacing,

མཐོ་དམན་མི་ཡིས་སྡང་ཞིང་བརྙས། །
People of both high and low status will grow hostile and look down upon them.

དེ་བས་རང་ཚུགས་མ་ཤོར་བར། །
Therefore, without losing one’s inner dignity and steadiness,

འདི་ཕྱི་འདུན་མ་འགྲུབ་ན་དགའ། །
May one’s aims and aspirations, both in this life and the next, be fulfilled.

Ho!

རྣལ་འབྱོར་པ་ཡི་འཛུམ་མདངས་འདི། །
This smile of the yogi,

དགྱེས་པའི་ཉམས་ལ་བཞག་པ་ཡི། །
Resting in the state of delight and bliss,

དགའ་སྡུག་རང་སར་གྲོལ་བའི་ཚེ། །
When joy and sorrow are liberated in their own place,

དགའ་བཞི་ཡེ་ཤེས་རང་ལས་རྙེད། །
The wisdom of the four joys is discovered within oneself.

An Alphabetical Praise of the Deeds of the Compassionate Teacher

ཀ་དག་དབྱིངས་ལས་ཐབས་མཁས་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཡི། །
From the primordial pure expanse arose skillful means and compassion.

ཁ་དོག་གསེར་གྱི་ལྷུན་པོ་ལྟ་བུའི་སྐུ།
Your body shines like a golden mountain.

ག་ནས་མཇལ་ཀྱང་བལྟ་བས་ཆོག་མི་ཤེས། །
From whatever direction one beholds you, one never tires of gazing.

ང་བདག་ཟུང་འཛིན་གྲོལ་བ་མུ་ན་ཡེ། །
O Sage, liberator from the dual grasping of self and other.

ཅ་ཅོ་མིན་ནོ་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཐུགས་བསྐྱེད་ནས། །
Not in vain, you generated the mind of enlightenment.

ཆ་རྐྱེན་བསོད་ནམས་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཚོགས་རྫོགས་ཞིང་། །
Completing the accumulations of merit and wisdom with all favorable conditions.

ཇ་ཆང་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱཀྱའི་ཡུལ། །
In the prosperous land of the Śākyas with abundant enjoyments.

ཉ་མ་མགོན་གྱུར་རྒྱལ་སྲས་མཚན་དཔེ་བཞད། །
You appeared as the royal prince, adorned with the marks and signs.

ཏ་ལིའི་ཤིང་ལྟར་སྙིང་པོ་མེད་གཟིགས་ནས། །
Seeing that worldly life is hollow like the pithless tāli tree.

ཐ་མལ་གནས་ལས་མཆོད་རྟེན་རྣམ་དག་གཤེགས། །
You departed from ordinary life and went to the pure sacred places.

ད་དུང་བྱང་ཆུབ་སྒྲུབ་པར་དགོངས་ནས་ནི། །
With the intention of accomplishing enlightenment.

ན་གཞོན་དུས་ནས་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་བར་མཛད། །
From a young age you renounced the household life.

ཙ་ད་ཆུ་བོ་ནཻ་ར་ལོ་དྲུག་ཏུ།
On the banks of the Nairañjanā River for six years.

ཚ་གྲང་དཀའ་སྤྱད་བསམ་གཏན་མཐར་ཕྱིན་ནས། །
Enduring heat and cold, you perfected the practice of meditation.

ཛ་ཡ་རྡོར་གདན་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཤིང་དྲུང་དུ། །
At the vajra seat beneath the Bodhi tree.

ཝ་ལེར་མངོན་སངས་རྒྱས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །
You swiftly attained perfect awakening — homage to the Buddha.

ཞ་ཞི་རི་དྭགས་ནགས་ཚལ་གནས་མཆོག་ཏུ། །
In the peaceful Deer Park, that sacred place.

ཟ་འཐུང་བདུད་རྩི་ཆོས་ཀྱི་འཁོར་ལོ་བསྐོར། །
You turned the wheel of Dharma, the nectar of sustenance.

འ་ཅག་གདུལ་བྱ་དཔག་མེད་འཁོར་ཚོགས་ལ། །
For us and for countless disciples gathered around.

ཡ་མཚན་ཐེག་གསུམ་འགོད་མཛད་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །
You established the wondrous Three Vehicles — homage to you.

ར་མ་ལུག་ངན་མུ་སྟེགས་ཚར་བཅད་ནས། །
You subdued the misguided views of heretics.

ལ་འུར་བདུད་བཏུལ་ཐུབ་པ་གཡུལ་ལས་རྒྱལ། །
You conquered the hosts of Māra and were victorious in battle.

ཤ་ཚ་ཐུགས་ཀྱི་མཉན་ཡུལ་ཆོ་འཕྲུལ་བསྟན། །
Out of great compassion you displayed miracles in Śrāvastī.

ས་འདིར་ལྷ་མི་འགྲོ་བས་རབ་ཏུ་མཆོད། །
Gods, humans, and beings of this world worshipped you greatly.

ཧ་ཅང་ལེ་ལོ་ཆོས་བསྐུལ་རྩྭ་མཆོག་གྲོང་། །
At the supreme place of Kuśinagara you urged diligence in Dharma.

ཨ་ཧོ་འོད་གསལ་དབྱིངས་སུ་མྱ་ངན་འདས། །
Ah! You passed into nirvāṇa within the luminous expanse.

མ་འོངས་གདུལ་བྱར་བསོད་ནམས་ཐོབ་བྱའི་ཕྱིར། །
For the sake of future disciples to gain merit.

རིང་བསྲེལ་མང་སྤྲུལ་མཛད་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །
You manifested many relics — homage to you.

དེ་ལྟར་བསྟན་པའི་བདག་པོ་བཅོམ་ལྡན་གྱི། །
Thus, praising the deeds of the Blessed One, Lord of the Doctrine.

མཛད་པའི་མཛད་ཚུལ་ཀ་རྩོམ་བསྟོད་པ་ཡི། །
In this alphabetical hymn describing his deeds.

དགེ་བས་བདག་སོགས་འགྲོ་བ་སེམས་ཅན་ཀུན། །
By this virtue, may I and all sentient beings.

རྫོགས་པའི་སངས་རྒྱས་གོ་འཕང་མྱུར་ཐོབ་ཤོག །
Quickly attain the state of perfect Buddhahood.

བདེ་གཤེགས་སྲས་བཅས་ཀུན་གྱི་ཐུགས་བསྐྱེད་དང་། །
May the intention of the Sugatas and their heirs,

མཛད་པ་སྨོན་ལམ་མཁྱེན་བརྩེ་ནུས་པའི་ཚུལ། །
Their activities, aspirations, wisdom, compassion, and power,

བླ་མེད་ཡེ་ཤེས་སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་ཅི་འདྲ་བ། །
Their unsurpassed wisdom and miraculous qualities—

དེ་འདྲ་ཁོ་ནར་བདག་སོགས་འགྱུར་བར་ཤོག །
May we become exactly like them.

This was written on the morning of the 22nd day of the Miracle Month in the Fire Horse year.
Based on the praise of the Twelve Deeds composed by the master Nāgārjuna, the lay follower of the Śākya, Orgyen Sangdak, wrote this spontaneously in the form of an alphabetical verse.
May all beings who see, hear, remember, or touch it receive the incomparable blessings of the Teacher, Śākyamuni Buddha.

༈དང་པོར་ང་ཡི་པར་ལ་ལྟོས། །
First, look at my image.
首先请看我照片

བལྟ་མཁན་བཟང་ངན་ཅི་འདྲ་མཐོང་། །
Whatever good or bad the viewer may perceive,
能看之者能见否

ཇི་ལྟར་སྣང་ཡང་དགག་མ་སྒྲུབ། །
However it appears, do not reject or affirm it.
纵何显亦无破立

དེ་ལྟར་བཞག་ན་གནད་ཅིག་ཡོད། །
If left just so, there is an essential point within it.
如是观中自然住

ཅེས་པའང་མི་སྨྱོན་གསང་བདག་ང་ལ་བཟང་ངན་ཅི་འདྲ་མཐོང་ཡང་གཟིགས་མཁན་རྣམས་ལ་བདག་འཛིན་རྩ་བ་ཐད་ཀར་གཅོད་ནས་སོ་སོའི་གནས་ལུགས་ངོ་བོའི་ཐོག་ལ་མ་མཅོས་མཉམ་པར་བཞག་པའི་དོན་དུ་བྲིས་པ་དགེ །
Thus, the madman Sangda wrote this so that, regardless of whatever good or bad people may see in me, the viewers may directly cut through the root of self-grasping and remain naturally and evenly, without contrivance, in the true nature of their own state of being. Virtue!
如是，于我疯行桑达无论见作贤劣，彼等见者皆得当下斩断我执，皆于各个自家实相本来面目中毫无改造、自然安住，为此而作。善哉！（苏法慈译）

གུས་ལྡན་བྱམས་པ་ཆོས་འཛིན་གྱིས་རྒྱ་བསྒྱུར་ཕུལ་བས་འབྲེལ་ཐོགས་སེམས་དོན་ཉམས་སུ་འཁྱེར་བའི་རྟེན་འབྲེལ་དུའོ།།

ནང་རྟེན་ཆོས་སྒོར་ཞུགས་པའི་རྒྱན་བཞི་ནི།

ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྒྱན། { རྩ་བ་ཉམས་ལེན། } དེ་འང་སྒོམ་དང་ཉམས་ལེན་གཙོ་ཆེ་ཟེར་ཀྱང་སྒོམ་པ་གནང་བ་ལས་ཐོས་བསམ་མཁན་མང་བ།
དེ་འང་ང་མཁས་ང་ལྷག་མཉམ་པའི་ང་རྒྱལ།

ཅེས་པའང་མི་སྨྱོན་གསང་བདགའི་མ་དག་མིག་གི་སྣང་ངོར་མཐོང་བ་བྲིས་རུ་ཤོར་བ་ཐུགས་ལ་ཕོག་ན་མཐོལ་བཤགས་བཟོད་གསོལ་ཕུལ།

སྐྱེས་རབས་སྐུ་ཕྲེང་ཡིན་རུང་མིན་རུང་དགའ། །
Whether or not I am a recognized incarnation, it makes no difference—I feel joy.

ཚེ་འདིར་བླ་མའི་རྗེས་བཟུང་གདམས་ངག་ཐོབ། །
In this very life, I have come under the care of a lama and received profound instructions.

གུ་རུའི་སྐུ་ཚབ་བྱིན་ལྡན་ལག་ཏུ་བརྙེད། །
I have obtained in my own hands the blessed representation of the Guru.

སྔོན་བསགས་ལས་འཕྲོ་བཟང་པོ་ཡིན་ཡང་སྲིད། །
This may well be the result of good karmic connections accumulated in the past.

ཅེས་པའང་ཆུང་དུས་གྲུབ་ཆེན་ཕྱག་རྡོར་ལས་སྐྱིད་རྡོ་རྗེ་དང་གཏེར་སྟོན་གསང་བདག་དགུང་འཕུར་ནག་པོའི་བག་ཆགས་སད་པའི་ཨོ་རྒྱན་ཕྱག་རྡོར་གླིང་པསོ།
Thus, this was spoken in childhood by Orgyen Chador Lingpa, in whom the karmic imprints were awakened of the great accomplished drupchen Chador Lekyi Dorje and the treasure revealer Sangdak Gungphur Nakpo.

ང་ཚོའི་རྒྱལ་པོ། །
ང་ཚོའི་སློབ་དཔོན། །
ང་ཚོའི་ཕ་མ། །
ང་ཚོའི་སྒྲོན་མེ། །
བཤེས་གཉེན་ཉིན་ལ་གུས་བསྟོད་ཞུ།

ཞལ་གདམས་རག་བསྡུས།
Concise Essential Oral Advice

འཁོར་བ་ངེས་འབྱུང་སྦྱོར་བ་སེམས་བསྐྱེད་ཐོག །
Upon the basis of joining definite renunciation toward saṃsāra and arousing bodhicitta,

དངོས་གཞི་དམིགས་མེད་བླ་མའི་རོལ་པ་རུ། །
In the main practice, within the display of the guru free from conceptual focus,

ཐུགས་ཡིད་བསྲེ་ཤེས་རྗེས་ལ་བསྔོ་བ་གྱིས། །
Knowing how to mix mind and wisdom-heart, afterward make dedication prayers.

འདི་ཕྱི་བར་དོའི་གདམས་པ་དེས་ཡི་ཆོག །
With that, the instruction for this life, future life, and the bardo is sufficient.

ཅེས་པའང་མི་སྨྱོན་གསང་བདག་པས་བླ་མའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་སྒྲུབ་མཁན་རྣམས་ལ་གདམས་པ་དགེ།
Thus was this virtuous advice spoken by madman Sangdak to those practicing guru yoga.

ཀ་རྩོམ་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ངག་དབང་རྣམ་རྒྱལ་མཛད་རྣམ་བཞུགས། །
An alphabetical poem on the life deeds of protector Ngawang Namgyal.

ཀ་མ་ལ་སྐུ་གངས་ཅན་ལྗོངས་སུ་བཞད། །
Like a lotus body, he blossomed in the snowy land of Tibet.
ཁ་བཞི་ལྷོ་ལ་འགྲོ་དོན་དུས་ལ་བབས། །
At the destined time, he journeyed south for the benefit of beings.
ག་ལེར་སྤུངས་ཐང་བདེ་ཆེན་ཕོ་བྲང་བཞེངས། །
Gradually, he built the glorious Pungthang Dechen Phodrang.
ང་ནི་སྐྱབས་བཟང་ཕྱག་ཐམ་བཅུ་དྲུག་སྩོལ། །
he granted the sacred sixteen seals of refuge.

ཅ་ཅོ་མ་ཡིན་དཔལ་ལྡན་འབྲུག་པའི་གདུང་། །
Not mere chatter, this is the noble lineage of the glorious Drukpa.
ཆ་རྐྱེན་ཡེ་ཤེས་མགོན་པོའི་ལུང་བསྟན་ལྟར། །
In accordance with the prophecy of the wisdom protector.
ཇ་ཆང་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་ལྡན་པ་ལྷོ་ཡུལ་དུ། །
In the southern land endowed with prosperity and enjoyment.
ཉ་གང་གཟི་ལྡན་བླ་མ་བྱོན་པ་བཟང་། །
A glorious and magnificent lama appeared, most auspicious indeed.

ཏ་ལའི་འདབ་ལྟར་ཡངས་པའི་ཐུགས་བསྐྱེད་ཀྱིས། །
With a vast mind like the petals of a lotus,
ཐ་ན་རྒྱལ་ཁྲིམས་གསེར་གྱི་གཉའ་ཤིང་དང་། །
He established the royal law like a golden yoke,
ད་དུང་ཆོས་ཁྲིམས་དར་གྱི་མདུད་ཕོད་གཉིས། །
And further, the religious law like a silken knot,
ན་མར་ཆོས་སྲིད་ཟུང་འབྲེལ་ལུགས་གཉིས་བཙུགས། །
Thus he established the dual system of religion and governance.

པ་ཏྲ་ལྟ་བུར་མཛེས་པའི་རྫོང་ཆེན་བཞེངས། །
He built great dzongs, beautiful like celestial palaces.
ཕ་གཅིག་བླ་མའི་རྒྱལ་ཚབ་རྗེ་མཁན་དང་། །
Appointing the Je Khenpo as the spiritual representative,
བ་ལ་རྟ་མཆོག་བཞིན་གྱི་སྡེ་སྲིད་གཉིས། །
And the Desi, like a noble steed, as the temporal ruler,
མ་འོངས་འབངས་རྣམས་དོན་དུ་སྐུ་ཚབ་བསྐོས། །
He appointed them as representatives for the future welfare of the people.

ཙ་རིའི་ཉེ་འདབས་བོད་ཀྱི་དབུས་གཙང་ནས། །
From central Tibet near Tsari,
ཚ་གྲང་ཁྱད་བསད་དམག་དཔུང་ལེན་མང་བཟློག
He repelled numerous invading armies, undeterred by heat or cold.
ཛ་ཡནྟུ་ཞེས་བླ་མ་དགོངས་འདུས་གྱི། །
And came as victorious among all invasions.
ཝ་ལེར་རིན་སྤུངས་རྫོང་ནང་སྒྲུབ་ཆེན་བཙུགས། །
He established grand ceremonies in Rinpung Dzong.

ཞ་མོ་རྟེན་འབྲེལ་དབུ་ཞྭ་གཙུག་ཏུ་བཞེས། །
He wore the auspicious hat of interdependent signs upon his head.
ཟ་འཐུང་བདུད་རྩི་མགོན་པོར་གསོལ་མཆོད་དང། །
Offering food and nectar-like drink as offerings to the protector,
འ་ཅག་རྣམས་ལ་ཞལ་ཆེམས་ལུང་བསྟན་གནང་། །
He bestowed final advice and prophecies upon us.
ཡ་མཚན་ཡུལ་མིང་དཔལ་ལྡན་འབྲུག་པ་གསོལ། །
He gave the wondrous name of the land: “Glorious Drukpa.”

ར་བ་གངས་རིས་བསྐོར་བ་འབྲུག་ཡུལ་དུ། །
In Bhutan, encircled by ranges of snowy mountains,
ལ་ལུང་གང་ལའང་ཉེར་ཚེ་ཞི་བ་དང་། །
In every valley and pass, peace and well-being prevailed.
ཤ་ཟ་གནོད་སྦྱིན་རྣམས་ཀྱང་སྲུང་མར་བསྐོས། །
Even harmful spirits and demons were appointed as protectors.
ས་ཕྱོགས་འདི་རུ་ནག་ཕྱོགས་ལྷ་མིན་འཇོམས། །
Thus, negative forces and demonic beings were subdued in this land.

ཧ་ཅང་ཐུགས་ནི་མི་གྲིམ་མི་ལྷོད་པར། །
His mind remained unwavering and unrelaxed,
ཨ་ཧོ་འོད་གསལ་ངང་དུ་ཐུགས་དམ་བཞུགས། །
Abiding in the luminous state of realization—ah ho!
ངོ་མཚར་རྟགས་བཅས་དག་པའི་ཞིང་དུ་གཤེགས། །
With wondrous signs, he departed to the pure realm.
བླ་མ་ཐུགས་དགོངས་རྫོགས་པའི་བཀྲ་ཤིས་ཤོག །
May the guru’s enlightened intent be perfectly fulfilled—auspiciousness!

དེ་སྐད་ཁྱོད་ལ་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་པའི་མཐུས། །
Through the power of making such prayers to you,
ས་སྐྱོང་མི་དབང་ཆབ་སྲིད་བརྟན་པ་དང་། །
May rulers and leaders maintain stable governance,
མངའ་འབངས་ཐམས་ཅད་དགེ་བཅུའི་ཆོས་ལ་སྤྱོད། །
And all subjects practice the ten virtuous actions,
རྟག་ཏུ་དགའ་སྐྱིད་དཔལ་དང་ལྡན་པར་ཤོག །
May they always enjoy happiness, prosperity, and Wealth

ཅེས་པའང་བཀའ་དྲིན་གསུམ་ལྡན་གྱི་བདག་ཉིད་དཔལ་ལྡན་འབྲུག་པའི་སྐྱབས་མགོན་བླ་མ་ངག་དབང་ཕྱོགས་ལས་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ་བའི་སྡེ་ཆེན་པོའི་མཛད་རྣམ་ཀ་རྩོམ་ཐོག་ཏུ་ཉིད་ཀྱི་འབངས་སུ་གཏོགས་པ་འབྲུག་པ་མི་སྨྱོན་ཨོ་རྒྱན་གསང་བདག་རོལ་པའི་རྡོ་རྗེ་ནས་རང་ལ་དད་མོས་ལྡན་པ་སངས་རྒྱས་ཕུན་ཚོགས་ནས་བསྐུལ་མ་ཐག་ཡུད་ཙམ་ཞིག་ལ་ཤར་མར་བྲིས་པ་དགེ་ལེགས་འཕེལ། །
Thus, this acrostic account of the deeds of the glorious protector of Bhutan, lama Ngawang Namgyal, lord endowed with the threefold kindness, was composed by Drukpa Orgyen Sangdak Rolpai Dorje at the request of the devoted Sangye Phuntshok. May virtue and goodness increase!

མི་ཕམ་འཇམ་པའི་དབྱངས་ཀྱི་ཞལ་ནས།
བྱིན་རླབས་རྩ་བ་བླ་མ་གཙུག་ཏུ་བརྟེན།།
དངོས་གྲུབ་རྩ་བ་ཡི་དམ་ལྷ་སྔགས་བསྙེན།།

རང་སེམས་མ་བཅོས་གཉུག་མའི་དོན་ལ་བལྟ།།
ཞི་ལྷག་ཟུང་འབྲེལ་ཏིང་འཛིན་རྒྱུན་དུ་བསྒོམ།།
གཞན་ཕན་སེམས་ཀྱིས་རྟག་ཏུ་འགྲོ་དོན་བྱ།།
དེ་ལྟར་གྱུར་ན་སྔགས་པ་དོན་དང་ལྡན།།
ཞེས་པ་འདི་ནི་རབ་བྱུང་གི་རྟེན་ཅན་གྱི་སྔགས་པ་དང་།
དགེ་བསྙེན་གྱི་རྟེན་ཅན་གྱི་སྔགས་པ་སྟེ།
མདོར་ན་གསང་སྔགས་བླ་མེད་ཀྱི་དབང་ཁྱད་པར་བ་རྣམས་མནོས་ཤིང་སྔགས་ལ་ཞུགས་པའི་སྐྱེ་བོ་ཕོ་མོ་སུ་ཡིན་ཡང་བློ་ལ་བཟུང་ནས་ཉམས་ལེན་གྱི་ཚིག་དོན་མདོར་བསྡུས་སུ་གཟུང་བར་རིགས་སོ།།
