༄། རང་ཟླ་༣ པའི་ཚེས་༨ ནས་༡༠ ཚུན་ དཔལ་ལྡན་དབྱར་རྔའི་ལྗོངས་འདིར་ སངས་རྒྱས་གཉིས་པ་ཨོ་རྒྱན་གྱི་སློབ་དཔོན་ཆེན་པོའི་ལུང་གིས་ཟིན་ཞིང་ བདག་ཅག་ལྷོ་ལྗོངས་པ་སྤྱིའི་བསོད་ནམས་སྙིགས་དུས་འགྲོ་བའི་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཆོས་སྲིད་ལུགས་གཉིས་ཀྱི་བདག་པོ། ༸དཔལ་ལྡན་འབྲུག་པ་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ངག་དབང་རྣམ་རྒྱལ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་མཆོག རི་བོ་གྲུ་འཛིན་གཉིས་པ་སྤུངས་ཐང་བདེ་བ་ཆེན་པོའི་ཕོ་བྲང་ནང་དགོངས་པ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་དབྱིངས་སུ་ཐིམ་ནས་ ལོ་ངོ་ ༣༧༥ ་འཁོར་བའི་རྗེས་དྲན་སྐུ་མཆོད་ ཉིན་གྲངས་གསུམ་གྱི་རིང་རྩེ་གཟིམ་སྐུ་བགྲེས་སློབ་བཙན་རྒྱལ་མཆོག་གི་དབུ་བཞུགས་ཐོག འདི་གའི་མཁན་སློབ་དགེ་འདུན་པ་ཡོངས་ཀྱིས་བདེ་མཆོག་བཅུ་གསུམ་མའི་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ཞལ་ཕྱེ་བའི་ཐོག་ནས་ཚོགས་ཀྱི་འཁོར་ལོ་རྒྱ་ཆེན་པོ་ཕུལ་བཞིན་ཡོད་པའི་མཐོང་སྣང་།
Every year on the 10th day of the third month of the Bhutanese calendar, the nation observes Zhabdrung Kuchoe—the holy anniversary of the parinirvana (passing into ultimate peace) of Zhabdrung Rinpoche, Ngawang Namgyal. He is regarded as an embodiment of compassion, inseparable from Guru Padmasambhava.

From 24 April to 26 April 2026, Dorden Tash*thang Buddhist University will solemnly commemorate this sacred occasion. The three‑day religious ceremonies will be led by the Tse zim kudre lopen Chengyel and the monastic teachers, with over 200 monks participating. These ceremonies are conducted to generate spiritual merit.

Zhabdrung Rinpoche is the founding father of Bhutan. He unified the four regions of Monkha—west Dali Kha, north Tagtse Kha, east Dungsam Kha, and south Pagsam Kha—into a single nation. He gave the country the name “Druk” (Bhutan) and its people the name “Drukpa.” Their fame spread across Tibet, India, and Mongolia. He also established the dual system of religion and governance, which remains the lasting foundation of Bhutanese identity. His parinirvana took place at Punakha Dzong, known as the “second Mount Potala.” Though this was a significant turning point in history, his noble legacy continues to be deeply honored today.

May these three days of prayer and merit‑making preserve the Great Master’s wisdom and compassion for generations to come.

On April 17, 2026, His Eminence Tsugla Lopen Rinpochoe Karma Rangdrol graced the Thorim Shedra graduation ceremony at Dorden Tash*thang Buddhist University. He awarded Bachelor of Arts (BA) certificates in Buddhist Studies to all graduates.
Heartfelt congratulations to the graduates on this auspicious achievement! Lopen Rinpochoe also appointed the senior lecturer Khenpo Jamyang Tenzin as the Vice President at Tango Institute for Advanced Vajarayana Studies.

Today marked the auspicious conclusion of the Kuchoe prayers honouring the Mahāparinirvāṇa of His Holiness the 68th Je Khenpo. This sacred occasion coincided with Dorden Tash*thang Buddhist University's 10th Foundation Day, graced by the presence of Her Majesty Gyalyum Tshering Pem Wangchuck and Her Royal Highness Princess Chimi Yangzom Wangchuck.
Her Majesty launched Chag chen delin chodekh, composed by Drupwang kinga Mejur Dorji, Je Kunga Jamtsho, Je Yönten Thaye, and Je Gendün Rinchen, and the biography of the 2nd Je Khenpo Sonam wozer namthar, authored by Ngawang Pelden zangpo.
Researched by our Head of Research, Khenpo Tshewang Rigzin, these sacred Dharma texts were published today to preserve and share the profound wisdom of Bhutan's Drukpa Kagyü tradition.
The event concluded with devoted prayers for the peace and happiness of all sentient beings, upholding His Holiness's enduring legacy.
