What is TOEFL?

TOEFL iBT is a standardized test to measure expertise in English language of non-native speakers who are wishing to enroll in universities in English-speaking countries such as Australia 🇦🇺, Canada 🇨🇦, UK 🇬🇧, USA 🇺🇸 and New Zealand🇳🇿 with almost 100% acceptance rate.
The test is accepted by more than 13,000 universities and other institutions in over 190 countries and territories. TOEFL is one of several major English-language tests in the world, others including IELTS.

TOEFL is either Internet-based (iBT) or paper-based (PBT)standardized test.(..iBT being most reliable and popular)
This test is developed and administrator by Educational Testing Service (www.ets.org).
The Knowledge or skills tested includes Reading, listening, speaking and writing of the English language. And the purpose of TOEFL IBT is to assess the English language proficiency of non-native English speakers.

Although it was started all the way back in1964 i.e 58 years ago, it used to be more Western than Universal until 2019. This is the sole reason that people in the world market, including Bhutan and India, know very little about this test. And people seems to believe it is harder than IELTS but the reality is that people endup scoring higher in TOEFL than IELTS. All you need, to ace this test is that you need to crack the test itself, maybe with the help of certified tutor or own your own with some reliable sources...( please don't rely on YouTube video or articles published before 2019, TOEFLtest has changed significantly, since 2019)

The time taken to complete this test is only 3hrs or less, unlike IELTS, speaking 🔊 section is included within this time frame of 3hrs. Your test will be evaluated out of 120 I.e 30 in each section as follow.

Reading📚: 0 to 30,
listening🎧: 0 to 30,
Speaking🔉: 0 to 30.
Writing ✍: 0 to 30

The Score / grade you got will be validity for 2 years and cost of doing this test $190
(USD).
Mode of payment in Bhutan 🇧🇹: credit cards or TOEFL Vouchers (Nu.17,200)

Writing Section Explained😱

In Independent Writing (TOEFL iBT) ETS raters are looking for three main things;

Development, Organization, and Language use.

First, development: The raters look for how well you address the topic, and how well your detailed examples and reasons support your ideas. If you just use a lot of words and sentences that don't really support the points you're making about the topic, or if you develop empty ideas not related to the topic, you will score low❗

Second, organization: This basically means the reader can read your essay from beginning to end without being confused. You can help the reader follow your ideas by writing in paragraphs and using good transitional words such as "moreover", "In additionto", "also" and "subsequently".
Also, make sure your support points relates clearly to the topic, and avoid redundancy or repeating the same key words again and again.

The third is language use: ETS raters are looking for things like sentence structure, word choice and vocabulary.
It's also important that your use of grammar is strong and consistent, though it doesn't have to be perfect to get a top score.

How to score high in Speaking sction of TOEFL IBT?

Generally well-paced flow: You have to speak quickly without too many pauses or unnecessary hesitations.

Speech or overall intelligibility is clear: Even though you may have some minor pronunciation difficulties, listener can understand what you are saying.

Minor lapses or minor difficulties with pronunciation or intonation patterns: This means that you are having some minor difficulties with pronunciation or intonation. You might mispronounce a word or two. Or, you might not be varying your tone enough. However, it is still quite easy to understand what you are saying.
