On 16 September, the “Creative Educational Materials Development Training Program for ECCD Facilitators (Pre-Primary Teachers)” was conducted for the Management and ECCD Trainers of the Institute of Skills & Management Studies (ISMS), as well as National Level ECCD Facilitator (Pre-Primary Teacher) trainees from ISMS.

The training program was organised and conducted by Ms. Masaya Tanaka and Ms. Yokoyama Midori, Professors from Seigakuin University, Japan, in collaboration with the Institute of Skills & Management Studies and Pelkhil School, Thimphu.

The training focused on developing creative and engaging educational materials to support ECCD facilitators in enhancing teaching and learning experiences for young children.

Following this initial training, the Institute of Skills & Management Studies will now roll out the program in batches to all in-service ECCD facilitators and National Level (BQFC Level 3) ECCD Facilitator trainees, ensuring that the knowledge and skills gained through the training are shared and applied more broadly among ECCD professionals.

Appointment of Jigme Dorji as Vice President of SAARC Youth Council.

Jigme Dorji, aged 38, has been appointed as the new Vice President of the SAARC Youth Council, effective September 10, 2026.

With extensive experience in leadership, management, youth development, and organisational affairs, Mr. Jigme Dorji brings a diverse range of expertise and experience to his new role. Prior to this appointment, he served in various management and leadership positions, where he gained valuable experience in administration, organisational development, capacity building, and working with young people.

Jigme Dorji began taking on leadership responsibilities at a relatively young age. He considers the opportunities and responsibilities he has received throughout his journey as a great blessing and humbly attributes much of his success and ability to serve to the blessings and guidance of His Majesty the King. His leadership journey has been guided by a strong sense of responsibility, humility, service, and a commitment to contributing positively to society.

He is also the Founder and President of the Bhutanese Youth Initiative Project, an initiative focused on empowering and engaging Bhutanese youth and creating meaningful opportunities for young people to contribute to national development.

In addition, Jigme Dorji currently serves as the President of Association of Bhutanese Training Providers, where he works closely with stakeholders in the training and skills development sector.

His involvement in youth empowerment, skills development, organisational leadership, and professional development has provided him with a broad perspective that he can bring to the SAARC Youth Council.

The Management, Assistant ECCD Trainer, and ECCD Facilitator from Institute of Skills & Management Studies(ISMS), along with representatives from Olakha ECCD Centre(Autonomous), attended the DAMTSI Education Guide for ECCD Facilitators (Public and Private ECCD Centres) training organised and facilitated by the Thromde Education Office,Thimphu Thromde.

The two-day training was held on 5th and 6th September 2026 at Hotel Mayto, Langjophakha, Thimphu, and brought together approximately 60 participants.

The programme aimed to equip ECCD facilitators and relevant stakeholders with the knowledge, understanding, and practical skills required to effectively implement the DAMTSI Education Guidebook across ECCD centres and create greater awareness within their respective centres.

During the programme, Mr. Jigme Dorji, President of the Association of Bhutanese Training Providers, expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Chief Thromde Education Officer, Principal-RBP LSS, and Lead ECCD Facilitator from RBP ECCD Centre for their valuable leadership, support and for facilitating such a power-packed and meaningful session on the DAMTSI Education Guide.
The President also acknowledged the importance of the initiative in strengthening values-based education and fostering integrity from an early age.

Institute of Skills & Management Studies (ISMS) also like to extend its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Thromde Education Office, Thimphu Thromde, for providing this valuable opportunity to participate in the training.

The knowledge and insights gained from the programme will greatly support ISMS Management and ECCD Trainers in embedding and aligning the DAMTSI Education Guide with the BQFC3/NC3 ECCD National Competency Standards and Curriculum, thereby enabling them to effectively impart the relevant values, knowledge, and skills to ECCD facilitator trainees.

ISMS would also like to express its sincere appreciation to the Anti-Corruption Commission of Bhutan(ACC) and the ECCD & SEN Division, Department of School Education, Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD) for developing and introducing the new and resourceful DAMTSI Education Guidebook.
The guidebook is an important initiative aimed at strengthening values-based education, promoting integrity, and nurturing ethical values from an early age.

ISMS further acknowledges and appreciates the efforts of all concerned agencies and stakeholders involved in coordinating and facilitating this important training programme. Such collaborative initiatives will contribute significantly to strengthening the capacity of ECCD facilitators and ensuring that values, integrity, and ethical awareness become an integral part of early childhood care and development.

ISMS looks forward to continuing its support and collaboration with the relevant agencies in promoting quality ECCD education and contributing towards the effective implementation of the DAMTSI Education Guide across ECCD centres in Bhutan.
