Institute of Skills & Management Studies would like to sincerely thank Tobgay Sir, Social Behaviour Change (SBC) Specialist from UNICEF Bhutan, for facilitating a highly informative and engaging day-long capacity-building session on Social Behaviour Change (SBC) and Interpersonal Communication (IPC).

The session greatly strengthened participants’ knowledge and practical skills in meaningfully engaging communities during the implementation of the Integrated Childcare Advisory Package (ICCAP).

The session focused on effective community engagement approaches, behaviour change strategies, and communication techniques to promote positive caregiving practices and improve participation at the community level.

Participants were introduced to key principles of interpersonal communication, including active listening, empathy, respectful dialogue, and culturally responsive messaging to better address the needs of children and families.

Through interactive discussions, group activities, and practical exercises, participants enhanced their understanding of how SBC and IPC can support behaviour change, build trust within communities, and encourage greater ownership and participation in ICCAP interventions. The training also emphasized the importance of collaboration with caregivers, local leaders, and community stakeholders to ensure sustainable and inclusive implementation of the programme.

We deeply appreciate Mr. Tobgay’s valuable insights, dedication, and expertise, which contributed immensely to the success of the session. His guidance, practical examples, and interactive facilitation inspired participants and reinforced the importance of effective communication and meaningful community engagement in improving the wellbeing of children and families.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Sonam Sir, Dy. Chief Program Officer(Comprehensive Sexuality Education -IN BHUTAN), Health & Wellbeing Division, Department of Education Programmes, MOESD, Ministry of Education and Skills Development, for coordinating and organizing the training programme in an excellent and professional manner. His dedication, coordination, and continuous support contributed significantly to the smooth conduct and overall success of the programme.
