The MEP programme students visited Serja Breweries Pvt. Ltd. today for industrial exposure and experiential learning. During the visit, the students observed cold insulation processes and toured several key sections of the plant.

The Department extends its sincere gratitude to Project Director Mr. Sonam Wangchuk and his team for their generosity, warm hospitality, and for providing lunch and refreshments to the students.

𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐒-𝐋𝐀𝐁 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠

The first S-LAB Advisory Board Meeting was held on 9th March 2026, bringing together partners from TU Graz, Austria, and JNEC, Bhutan, under the APPEAR-funded project. During the meeting, the team presented the aims, scope, and progress of the S-LAB initiative to the board members.

The key initiatives include the establishment of the Sustainable
Building Lab, the development of a micro-credential course on
Sustainable Building Design, and research on energy-efficient and healthy buildings in Bhutan. The main research areas include
post-occupancy evaluation, monitoring indoor air quality in
institutional buildings, baseline energy studies of buildings, and the development of equality, diversity, and inclusion criteria.

The meeting also explored future collaboration opportunities, including staff exchanges, outreach activities, and engagement with policymakers.
