Led by Ugyen Penjor, a former NCD colleague and now a P.hD Scholar at the Oxford University, our Chief and Tandin has co-authored a scientific paper with the title "Vulnerability of mammal communities to the combined impacts of anthropic land-use and climate change in the Himalayan conservation landscape of Bhutan". Published in the Esteemed Journal Ecological indicator, the paper highlights the negative impacts of anthropic land-use variables such as agriculture, roads, and human settlements to mammalian compositions in Bhutan. The paper further reports that current climate change trend will have an adverse impact on the occurrence of most mammalian species in Bhutan. As such, it was found that forests cover is a prerequisite if the mammals are the thrive so reconciling land-use management is a must.
Congratulations on this important publication.
