Coordinated by Dr. Chimi Wangmo, Mr. Bhawani S Nirola and Mr. Rigzin Norbu, the WRE students attended a presentation on Nature Based Solutions for Water Management, using the team's GEF funded project "Piloting of a natural system for greywater treatment and development of pond as source of disposal" as a case study.
The session provided students with valuable insights into nature-based wastewater treatment systems, emphasizing the role of constructed wetlands as sustainable and cost-effective solutions for greywater management.
Students learned key engineering concepts related to hydraulic design, watershed analysis, and system sizing, and were introduced to essential software tools used in water resources projects.
In addition, the students were given a UAV demonstration, showcasing how modern surveying technologies can enhance data collection and spatial analysis in engineering design.
The session successfully connected theory with practice, highlighting how innovation and sustainability can be integrated in solving real-world water management challenges.
