The 3rd Year students of the Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering successfully completed a two-day academic and industrial study tour on 11th and 12th May 2026, visiting several leading technology organizations and agencies in Thimphu, including Thimphu TechPark, Druk Smart, Selise, GovTech, iTechnologies, and TashiCell. A total of 19 students, accompanied by 2 faculty members, participated in the study tour.

The primary objective of the study tour was to provide students with practical exposure to real-world industry environments and help bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional practice. Throughout the tour, students had the opportunity to observe workplace culture, understand current technological trends, and gain insights into the growing ICT and software industry in Bhutan.

The experience allowed students to interact with professionals from different sectors and broaden their understanding of software development, digital transformation, innovation, cybersecurity, and IT services. The tour also helped students appreciate the importance of teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and continuous learning in the technology field.

Overall, the study tour was highly informative, educational, and inspiring. It significantly contributed to the students’ academic growth, technical awareness, and professional development while motivating them to prepare for future careers in the software engineering and ICT industry.
