Honourable Dasho Tshewang Chophel Dorji, Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD)’s visit to Dawakha LSS.

During the visit, Dasho highlighted the importance of the Royal Kasho on Education Reform, presenting it as the fundamental plan for Bhutan’s educational future. He provided a detailed overview of four strategic pillars aimed at transforming the country’s education system:

1. Curriculum Enhancement: Updating Bhutan’s school curriculum to meet Cambridge Standards and implementing it in classes IX and XI this year.
2. Infrastructure: Developing and maintaining facilities in schools that promote innovation.
3. Professional Development: Equipping teachers with the necessary skills and tools for teaching in the 21st century.
4. Governance: Improving systems to ensure accountability and efficient service.

A key focus of the discussion was the need for a shift in mindset. Dasho stressed that while structural reforms are crucial, their success depends on educators and stakeholders changing their perspectives and adapting to the evolving requirements of modern education.
