The Inter-House Khuru Competition was successfully conducted on 11th August 2026. The competition provided an opportunity for students to demonstrate their skills, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship while promoting Bhutanese traditional sports.

All participating houses took part enthusiastically and displayed excellent team spirit throughout the competition. The event was conducted in a fair and friendly environment, creating a joyful and memorable experience for the students.

Bumthang Dzongkhag Chumey Cluster Primary Schools' Sports and Physical Activities Carnival 2026 was successfully conducted on Saturday, 1st August 2026 at Gaytsa Primary School under the theme "Stronger Together Through Sports and Wellbeing." The carnival brought together students, teachers, principals, parents, officials, and distinguished guests from schools across Bumthang Dzongkhag to celebrate sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy living.

The programme began with the reporting of officials, teachers, and participants, followed by the seating of guests and the arrival of the Chief Guest. The formal opening ceremony included the National Anthem, Offering of Marchang, a Welcome Speech by the Principal of Gaytsa Primary School, and the Opening Remarks by the Chief Dzongkhag Education Officer (CDEO). The ceremonial Lighting of the Olympic Torch by Mr. Tandin Wangchuk symbolized unity, excellence, and the spirit of sports.

To energize the event, students of Gaytsa Primary School presented an Aerobic Dance, followed by a series of exciting sporting events including the Hula Hoop Race (Class IV), Sprint Hurdle (Class V), Mix Relay (Class VI), Balance Race (Class IV), Passing the Ball (Class V), and Dribbling the Ball (Class VI). The programme was further enriched with vibrant Boedra Dance performances by parents from Gaytsa and Domkhar, showcasing Bhutanese culture and encouraging strong community participation.

Throughout the carnival, students displayed enthusiasm, discipline, teamwork, and fair play. Parents, teachers, and spectators enthusiastically supported the participants, creating a lively and encouraging atmosphere. The event concluded with the awarding of certificates and prizes to the winners, followed by a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Kelzang Wangdi. The programme ended with a fellowship lunch for all participants and guests.

The Sports Carnival 2026 brought joy, unity, and pride to the entire school community. It strengthened friendships, created lasting memories, and reminded everyone that participation and teamwork matter most. The carnival was a great success and reflected the shared commitment of schools in Bumthang Dzongkhag to promoting physical fitness, well-being, and holistic development through sports.

Gaytsa PS successfully conducted the Inter-House Volleyball Competition 2026 with the active participation of students from all four houses: Gawa, Jampa, Ningjey, and Tangyom. The competition aimed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and healthy competition among students.

The matches were played in a spirited and friendly atmosphere, with students demonstrating enthusiasm, determination, and respect for the rules of the game. Teachers and officials ensured the smooth conduct of the event, making it an enjoyable and meaningful learning experience for everyone involved.

The School bid a heartfelt farewell to five teacher mentees who successfully completed their six-month teaching practice. During the farewell, the school administration and respective mentors expressed their sincere gratitude for the mentees' dedication, commitment, and valuable contributions to both academic and co-curricular activities. We thank them for being part of the Gaytsa School family and wish them every success and happiness in their future teaching careers.

Gaytsa Primary School planted 100 cypress trees in the school premises to mark Bhutan for Wellbeing Day with support from the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Bhutan. Objectives included promoting environmental conservation, enhancing greenery, improving air quality, raising student awareness, and fostering responsibility toward sustainability and climate action among learners.
