Why We Still Need Bloom’s Taxonomy in the Age of AI?
Some ideas never get old.
Take Bloom’s Taxonomy, for example.
It’s been around since 1956.
And yet, as far as I am concerned, it remains one of the most powerful thinking tools in education.
People often ask: Is Bloom’s Taxonomy still relevant in today’s AI-driven classrooms?
I think this question misses the point.
Bloom's was never about trends.
It was about thinking.
About how we move from recalling facts to creating new ideas.
And that journey is timeless.
Remembering.
Understanding.
Applying.
Analyzing.
Evaluating.
Creating.
Every learning activity we design , whether it’s powered by AI or not , still flows through these stages.
AI can accelerate learning.
But it can’t replace thinking.
Bloom's Taxonomy reminds us: real learning happens when students go beyond answers and start asking better questions.
That's why I believe Bloom’s will always matter.
Because thinking will always matter.
