And we were one of them.
🚀 Another record-breaking year
The Beamline for Schools (BL4S) competition just hit a new milestone with an incredible 712 proposals submitted to the 2026 edition - a massive 40% increase since 2025!
The passion, creativity, and curiosity from students around the world keep pushing the boundaries of science. Huge congratulations to everyone who submitted a proposal and best of luck as you await the results.

A small milestone achieved! Our proposal has been successfully completed and submitted. We are deeply grateful to the faculty of Sherubtse College for their guidance and encouragement. We also thank the amazing colleagues and mentors we met through CERN whose advice and support greatly helped shape our work.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Mon Bdr P. Ghalley from Sherubtse college for taking the time to meet with our Beamline Bhutan team over Zoom and deliver such an engaging and insightful lecture on particle physics.
His session helped us deepen our understanding of fundamental particle interactions and provided valuable clarity as we refine our proposal for the CERN Beamline for Schools (BL4) competition. The thoughtful feedback and guidance he shared will greatly strengthen our experiment design and inspire our students as they explore the world of high-energy physics.
We are equally thankful to Sherubtse College for supporting this academic interaction and fostering collaboration between institutions. Such partnerships are vital in encouraging young Bhutanese learners to pursue scientific curiosity and research beyond the classroom.
Beamline Bhutan looks forward to continued collaboration, knowledge sharing, and future opportunities to work together in promoting STEM education and particle physics in Bhutan.
Kadrinchey la for your generosity, encouragement, and commitment to nurturing the next generation of scientists.

Beamline for Schools (BL4S) is an international competition organized by CERN that gives high school students a rare chance to experience real particle physics experiments. Students from around the world submit a research proposal, and winning teams get the opportunity to perform their experiment at CERN or a partner laboratory, working alongside professional scientists.
The aim of BL4S is to inspire young minds, promote scientific thinking, teamwork, and hands-on learning, and show students what it truly means to be a scientist.
🇧🇹 We are proud to share that a team from Bhutan is competing in BL4S this year!
Through this journey, we hope to raise awareness of particle physics, motivate students, and show that global science opportunities are open to everyone.
✨ Follow our journey and support Bhutan in global science! ✨
