Colonel Passang Dorji Inspires Students to Choose Purpose, Respect, and Responsibility

The school had the privilege of hosting Colonel Passang Dorji from the Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) for an impactful advocacy session on youth involvement in crime and substance abuse. The awareness programme aimed to educate students on the dangers of drugs and criminal activities while encouraging them to make responsible life choices.

Through realistic and relatable stories drawn from real-life situations, Colonel Passang Dorji delivered an inspiring and heart-touching message that deeply resonated with the students. His engaging delivery, creative presentation style, and precise content kept the students attentive and actively involved throughout the four-hour session.

During his talk, he reminded students of their purpose in coming to school—to fulfil the vision and aspirations of His Majesty The King, their teachers, parents, and most importantly, themselves. He emphasized that students are surrounded by a strong support system that provides them with every opportunity to succeed in life and challenged them to make the best use of these blessings.

Highlighting the invaluable role of parents and teachers in shaping the lives of young people, Colonel Passang Dorji urged students to respect and listen to their guidance. He reminded them that parents and teachers dedicate their time, effort, and sacrifices to groom them into responsible citizens and future leaders. He strongly advised students never to go against the sincere advice and wisdom of their parents and teachers, as they are the pillars of support who genuinely wish to see them succeed.

Colonel Passang Dorji also shared that he had come to meet the youth at the earliest stage possible to "beg them not to come into conflict with the law." He stressed the importance of preventive measures and highlighted the collective responsibility of protecting the future leaders of the nation from harmful influences.

Furthermore, he called upon students to uphold the values and identity of being Bhutanese. He emphasized the importance of preserving Bhutan's rich culture, traditions, and values while maintaining a collective attitude of unity, responsibility, compassion, and respect. He reminded students that being a proud Bhutanese citizen means contributing positively to society and safeguarding the peace, harmony, and prosperity of the nation.

Adding further value to the programme, he brought meaningful and worthwhile goodies for the students, making the session both memorable and impactful. The school community extends its heartfelt gratitude to Colonel Passang Dorji and the Royal Bhutan Police for their continued efforts in guiding and safeguarding the youth of Bhutan.
