Your opponent isn’t just watching the ball. They are watching YOU. 🎾👀
Aryna Sabalenka recently opened up about the biggest hurdle in her career. It wasn’t her serve or her fitness, it was her emotional leaks.
"My emotions were destroying my game... my opponents would see that and they would step in and play better."
When you overreact to a missed shot, you aren't just venting; you’re giving your opponent a tactical advantage. You’re telling them exactly how to beat you. 📉
The Sabalenka Shift:
âś… The Poker Face: Master the art of hiding the "mental chaos" so your opponent never feels "let in."
âś… The Internal Pivot: Converting that emotional energy into "The Zone" instead of a breakdown.
The difference between a "good player" and a "champion" is what happens between the ears. 🧠🏆
Stop being your opponent's best ally.
At Tennis IQ, we help you build the mental armor needed to stay composed when the pressure is highest. Don't just play harder; play smarter.

🏆 Huge congratulations to Ryan Ma on winning the USTA L3 National Junior Tournament, Singles Champion in his age category!
Ryan is one of our most dedicated athletes at Mouratoglou Academy Zephyrhills, and it’s been incredible to watch his growth both on and off the court.
What sets Ryan apart?
His commitment to the complete game, not just technique and fitness, but mental preparation.
Ryan journals every match in Tennis IQ, tracking what works under pressure and what needs attention in training. That daily habit of reflection and adjustment has been a game-changer in his competitive mindset.
We’re proud to have been part of Ryan’s journey.
To all our juniors: consistency in mental training matters just as much as consistency on the court. 🧠🎾

You’re a lot closer to raising a tennis player than you think…🎾
Most parents think development starts when lessons begin.
But it starts way earlier than that.
It starts with curiosity.
Confidence.
Fun.
Feeling comfortable around the game.
The players who grow to truly love tennis aren’t always the ones pushed the hardest…
They’re the ones who build a real connection with the sport early.
That’s why tennis IQ matters just as much as technique.
Helping young players understand the game, think through situations, and enjoy learning creates confidence that lasts far beyond practice.
The goal isn’t just better strokes.
It’s raising smarter, more confident players who love competing.

“This might be the best anti-aging activity on earth.” 🎾
This win was a 92-year-old woman playing against me last summer.
And honestly… moments like this are one of the reasons I love tennis so much.
The sport keeps people moving, connected, challenged, and mentally engaged at every stage of life.
Not many sports can become part of your life for decades the way tennis can.
92 years old and still out there competing with a smile.
That’s pretty inspiring. 💚

What parents say after a match can shape how junior players handle pressure, confidence, and even their love for the game.
Sometimes the car ride home matters more than the match itself.
🎾 In our latest Tennis IQ blog, we share:
• What NOT to say after matches

Most parents only see the score.
But the real reason junior players struggle often happens mentally during matches.
Pressure.
Decision-making.
Confidence swings.
Emotional control.
That’s the part most players never talk about after a loss.
🎾 Tennis IQ helps parents understand what’s really happening during competition, so development becomes smarter, more connected, and more intentional.
Because better support starts with better understanding.

The early mornings.
The long drives.
The tournament weekends.
The encouragement after tough losses.
Tennis moms do far more than people see.
They become the support system behind every growing player; teaching resilience, confidence, and belief long before results show up on the scoreboard.
Today we celebrate the moms behind the journey. đź’›
