Relationships will not always be equal because we meet people on their individual journeys. Growth does not send out a group email. Is it impossible to meet people who are completely aligned in every area? No. But Yahweh does not only use our relationships to comfort us. They also help us offer grace, practice patience, and grow personally. How my friends met me is not who I am today. I have had to unlearn, heal, and grow, and that is still happening even after 10 and 20 +years of friendship.

How we are raised within the family system is the first concept of relationship we experience and understand. The family structure becomes our relational blueprint. This means we often duplicate that relational mindset in friendships and romantic relationships. If your upbringing was dysfunctional, you may approach relationships expecting full acceptance of habits, decisions, and mindsets that made sense in your home but are harmful elsewhere.
This applies to money as well. If you never saw your parents budgeting, planning, or trying to do things differently, and you have not worked to change those patterns, it is very likely that you will mishandle money and eventually, this will create relational tension because friendship and romantic relationships are often the first places people turn when there is a financial crisis. But ongoing financial crises caused by poor spending habits are not accidents or mishaps. They are patterns shaped by mindset.
Proximity to a person should not mean a consistent financial bailout.

Improving your financial management adds another layer of safety to your relationships. People feel more secure letting you into their life when they know their finances will not become a target or an opportunity in cleaning up poor financial decisions.

Be careful with your words. They build worlds.
The life you’re living today is made of words you declared or words you absorbed.
As I coach women into new perspectives, I see a great deficit of words that heal and words that build. Words create belief, and belief creates reality.

Pay attention.
To how you speak to yourself.
To how you speak about yourself.
To how you let others speak to you—or about you.
Because words are the building blocks of belief.
Your mental health, your physical health, your emotional health are either healed or broken down through words…..so “watch your mouth”

5 Dysfunctional Reasons to Give

Opportunism – Giving solely for selfish gain, plotting on an opportunity that can benefit you in the near future.

Pride and Ego – Giving because you want validation, attention, or recognition for what you do.

People-Pleasing – Giving in hopes that it will change someone’s opinion of you or earn their acceptance.

Fear – Giving out of pressure, manipulation, or being coached through anxiety-inducing speeches.

Obligation – Giving only because you feel forced, guilty, or duty-bound, rather than from a place of willingness and agreement.

Breakthrough Cohort 2 is officially complete! Tonight we gathered for our closing dinner and celebrated each other and with each other. I could not be prouder of these women and the incredible journeys they’ve taken. I celebrate who they are now, and who they are becoming next.
We missed our six sisters who couldn’t attend, but even still, this group of women is such a beautiful, powerful, and necessary force.
We laughed, reflected, and soaked up every bit of joy tonight. To Cohort 2 ,your courage, transparency and brilliance will continue to ripple far beyond this space. Alexis Wilson

At the start of this year, I answered the call to journey with women into breakthrough,
the kind where we confront what has been holding them hostage in their faith, womanhood, business, purpose, relationships, and wellness.
For many, it was a bloody battle.
They came face to face with the same limitations that had kept their grandmothers, mothers, and even themselves stuck for generations. It was no easy feat, yet it was necessary, and purposeful , for their next level.

Today, those women stand in a different place spiritually, emotionally, and mentally because they were equipped holistically with the tools to keep overcoming.
