THOUGHT FOR TODAY: Feeling sorry for yourself and your present condition, is not only a waste of energy but the worst habit you could possibly have." ~ Dale Carnegie
This excerpt is from the book, " How to Stop Worrying and Start Living".
Two Key Words...THINK and THANK. Stop and ask yourself one key question - "What AM I worrying about?" In these times, perhaps this question is unrealistic you may say. But, is it?
I'm sure each of us in our own way have some horror story or another concerning the pandemic. I most certainly do! However, about 2 weeks ago I injured myself. Gave myself a mini concussion...again! What made this particularly stressful was the fact that I took a hit over "my one good eye". Got a good bruise too! My vision still gets blurry, headaches still come, still can't take too much sunlight...but guess what?? I STILL CAN SEE!!!
So, here are my thoughts: THINK: Would I sell both or any of my eyes for a billion dollars? How much would I take for both of my legs? My hands? My hearing? Children? Family?
While money certainly answers all things, and we concentrate heavily on how to get it, add up the assets listed above that you DO have and measure it against all the wealth the world possess. Who is wealthier?
"We seldom think of what we have but always of what we LACK."
THANK: No matter how tough things may become, I try to make a habit of looking on the best side of every event.
I literally only have functional use of one eye...yet still I'm writing to you. We cannot control the events around us most times, but at all times we can choose our response. Try Gratitude. It works.
"COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS...not your troubles".
I hit a lot of the times, but I miss too. By the law of averages...I am ahead. Are you?
