Aquinas College congratulates Alanna Murray, a Grade 12T Aces student, on her stellar performance at the 2026 Goodwill Games. Alanna was a member of the 2026 Bahamas Goodwill Games Swim Team, where she was also selected as one of four Team Captains.

Team Bahamas travelled to Trinidad to take part in the 30th Goodwill Games from August 14 to 16, competing with nine other countries.

From the start, Team Bahamas led the competition and went on to win the championship for the fourth year in a row, achieving an impressive 4-PEAT!

Alanna played a key role in Team Bahamas achieving this historic accomplishment and returned home with three medals:

Silver - 400m Medley Relay
Bronze - 200m Freestyle Relay
Bronze - 200m Medley Relay

St. Thomas More School Celebrates Literacy Day

Yesterday, September 8, was International Literacy Day. This annual event highlights the importance of literacy for dignity and human rights. The STM School community marked the day with a Swap and Read initiative. STM specialist teachers and office staff visited classrooms to read to students.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR STRIKER GOLF CLUB MEMBERS

Congratulations to all our Striker Golf Club members who completed the 2026 Fidelity Pays for A’s Program!

This year, students got free golf lessons and were recognized for their effort in school. Each time they earned an “A” on their report cards, they received a financial reward and school supplies sponsored by Book World.

The program wrapped up with a special event at Royal Blue Golf Club. Students received certificates and awards, and spent the day enjoying fun golf competitions. We are especially proud that 80% of the students in the program came from St. Cecilia’s School!

Our Strikers did an amazing job, winning every competition in both the boys’ and girls’ categories!

Overall 3rd Place – Boys & Girls: Lavoughn Stuart & Semaj Sands

Congratulations to Skylar Sands, Semaj Sands, Caelyn Mackey, Xario Taylor, Breion Bullard, and Ian Rolle for winning awards in the Drive, Putt, and Chip competitions.

The Aquinas College community congratulates 12th-grade student Jaliah Nairn, who was part of the Just Dance Bahamas group that made history at the StarQuest World Finals. As a senior soloist, Jaliah earned the Broadway Dance Center Professional Semester Scholarship, as well as the “Fierce & Focused” and “Photogenic” awards.

CBE Schools in the News - CBE Students Return for New Academic Year

Starting a new school year is akin to starting a new year. As we begin the 2026-2027 school year, let’s approach these first weeks with patience and kindness. It’s normal to feel stressed or unsure as we handle back-to-school traffic, meet new teachers, adjust to new classrooms, or, for seniors, start thinking about the future. In these moments, ask God for the courage to trust His plan for us.

As our children and young people return to school tomorrow, we place them in the loving hands of God our Father.

Lord, bless our students with wisdom, courage, patience, and a desire to learn. Guide their minds, protect their hearts, and keep them safe as they travel to and from school.

Surround them with good friends and caring teachers. When they are anxious, give them peace. When they face challenges, give them strength. When they succeed, keep them humble and grateful.

Bless our teachers, administrators, and all who care for our young people. Give them the wisdom and patience to guide and inspire the next generation.
