December 21st marks the winter solstice, which is the first day of winter in the northern hemisphere (Europe, the US, Canada, ...). It is also the day with the fewest hours of sunlight, making it the SHORTEST day of the year. After this day, the days start to become longer and longer until we reach the summer solstice, which happens on June 21st, the first day of summer and the LONGEST day of the year!

O dia 21 de dezembro marca o solstício de inverno, o primeiro dia de inverno no hemisfério norte (Europa, Estados Unidos, Canadá, ...). É também o dia com menos horas de sol, sendo o dia mais CURTO do ano. A partir desse dia, os dias vão ficando cada vez mais longos até chegarmos ao solstício de verão, que acontece no dia 21 de junho, primeiro dia do verão e o mais LONGO do ano!

Star Wars Day:
O 4 de maio é considerado um feriado por fãs de Star Wars para celebrar a cultura de Star Wars e honrar os filmes. O dia é chamado de Dia de Star Wars por causa da popularidade de um trocadilho com o modo de chamar esse dia em inglês.

Como a frase "May the Force be with you" (em português, "Que a Força esteja com Você") é uma citação famosa muitas vezes falada nos filmes de Star Wars, os fãs comumente dizem "May the fourth be with you" (em português, "Quatro de maio esteja com você") neste dia. Com isso, pode-se notar que o trocadilho apenas funciona em inglês, ficando sem sentido em português.
