Did you know? ✈️🎙️
In aviation, the phrase "Roger" doesn’t mean “yes” – it simply means “I received your message.” Back in the early days of radio communication, pilots used "R" for "received." When the phonetic alphabet was introduced, "R" became "Roger."
So, next time you hear "Roger that," remember—it doesn’t mean agreement, just acknowledgment! ✅

Did you know that all communications between pilots and air traffic controllers on international flights must be in English? This rule, set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in 2008, ensures everyone understands each other and avoids dangerous misunderstandings.
Aviation English also has its own set of phrases to keep things clear and precise. For example:
"Wilco" means I will comply with your instructions.
"Pan-Pan" signals a serious issue, but not an emergency.
"Mayday" is used for life-threatening emergencies, like an SOS.
