Saturday night saw Lodge St George host a charity event to raise funds for Meals on Wheels Bermuda. A special showing of the Masonic Lite Podcast “Knights of the Quarantine” raised around $500 for the charity. We plan on running another showing in a couple of weeks with an aim of making at least $1000 for Neals on Wheels.

A first step for the Brethren of Lodge St George last night, back to meeting regularly under Phase Four of the Bermuda Government’s plan to reopen Bermuda. A strict safety plan was in place including temperature testing, hand sanitising, appropriate physical distancing and the wearing of face coverings. All safety protocols in place, a successful start to the reopening of Masonic activities.

On Tuesday 26th May 2020 the Right Worshipful Master and Brethren of Lodge St George, recognising the needs in our community during this difficult period, provided a benevolent supper to anyone who needed a hot meal, no questions asked. In all 80 meals (soup, main course and dessert) were prepared and served by the brethren to those in need in the community from the kitchen door of The Old State House. MESSAGE FROM THE RIGHT WORSHIPFUL MASTER 15th MARCH 2020.

Brethren
Following receipt of a letter of direction from the RW Grand Superintendent Gordon David Mansfield Cook, the RWM Bro Hezekiah Fox, has instructed that ALL Regular meetings of Lodge St George No. 200 on the Roll of the Grand Lodge of Scotland are cancelled effective immediately until at least October 2020.

The Peppercorn Ceremony which is a National event, has not been cancelled at this time. Brethren should however prepare for the fact that the event, given that it attracts hundreds of spectators in addition to the participants, is unlikely to take place in its usual form. The Ceremony is more likely to be a small event involving only the Officers of Lodge St George and the Accountant General, in order that Lodge St George fulfils its responsibilities to pay the rent.

It is advised that if you currently have travel plans to come to Bermuda for the Ceremony that you consider cancelling those plans at this time.
Sincerely and fraternally,

Bro. Martin P. Weekes PM HAGDC

Secretary
Lodge St. George, No. 200, Grand Lodge of Scotland
