Yesterday we had a great info session with Daniel Rodriguez-Segura on the work of NewGlobe across five continents and what they have been working on in to improve primary level education.

His presentation had critical data on gaps within the and pinpointed areas of focus to develop pupils' capacity to grasp learning materials, make their learning experience productive, and improve teachers' capacity.

NewGlobe partners with schools through government partnerships and uses technology to develop pupils' performance. For instance, in NewGlobe-supported schools, 82% of Grade 1 students – typically six to seven-year-olds – can read a sentence, compared with 27% of those in other schools, [NewGlobe]. This is backed by the extensive research studies, feedback, and insights they generate from the schools they serve.

It was an opportunity for our students to ask critical questions about the research of and learn about opportunities available at the organization.

Yesterday, PhD Candidate Leo Dolan from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid concluded his two two-week lectures on African Economic History at the ASE Benin with our Master’s students 🙌

For the last two weeks, he has led class sessions on the evolution of economic activities during the , the dynamic changes that have led to a significant shift in how African trade evolved, and the impact of versus figures. He also used major political events and movements to explain the current economic situation on the continent and historical data since WWII and the period by comparing African and Asian economies. He highlighted the importance of the efficient use of natural resources and labor in boosting African economies as they tackle major challenges on the continent, like rapid , climate change, and urbanization, and also the importance of economic integration and .
