In Memory of Okane Binaisa
It is hard to find the right words when a light as bright as Okane’s goes out far too soon. As his teacher, I had the privilege of watching him navigate the rigors of BCM in Senior Six.
In a demanding combination where many struggle to find their footing, Okane didn’t just survive; he excelled. He was, without exaggeration, the brightest student in the room. But it wasn't just about the marks on a script. It was his clarity of thought, his sharp curiosity, and the way he made the most complex concepts look like second nature.
As teachers, we often say we are there to mold the next generation, but students like Okane end up teaching us. He reminded me why I stepped into the classroom in the first place—to witness that rare, raw talent that promises to change the world.
The academic world has lost a brilliant mind, and we have lost a young man who had so much more to give. Okane, you were a star in the classroom, and you will be deeply missed.
Rest in peace.
