We also witnessed a solidarity activity that gave the participants and opportunity to connect with and support the local comm unity

On Day 8 at the 9th Africa Scout Jamboree we go behind the scenes to share with you about life at camp . We also give you a glimpse into some of the work of some of the Jamboree Kitchen staff who have been working very hard to ensure participants and ISTs are well fed and on time. On this day we hosted the Burundi National Blood Transfusion Centre at the Jamboree site for a blood donation drive and the Chief Commissioner of Association des Scouts du Burundi - ASB was there to lead by example.

Scouting in Africa

On the seventh day of the 9th Africa Scout Jamboree we feature the Africa Development Village is an education and learning space at the 9th Africa Scout Jamboree dedicated to showcasing World Scouting’s programmes and how Scouts across Africa and the world are contributing to the realization of the aspirations of the sustainable development Goals. The programmes are being delivered through creative and engaging workshops under the framework of Scouts for SDGs on the themes of Environment and Sustainability, Peace and Community Engagement,, Health and Wellbeing, and Life Skills.

34 young people from 23 African countries took part in Regional International Leadership Training (ILT) held from 2 to 6 August 2024 at Matergo Hotel on the sidelines of the 9th Africa Scout Jamboree in Gitega, Burundi.

The ILT aims to enhance youth leadership across Africa by equipping Scouts and young leaders with skills and competencies in Scouting values, leadership, project management, communication and advocacy, community mobilization, ethical decision-making, team development, monitoring and evaluation, and knowledge on Sustainable Development Goals enabling them to effectively contribute to the development of their communities and countries.

The sixth day of the 9th saw participants visit the Gishora Drum Sanctuary and Gitega National Museum while others remained onsite for activities including the Africa Development village and the jamboree Cup of Nations footbal matches.
