On Wednesday, June 17th, our campus became a vital medical lifeline for the Bujumbura community. In a powerful display of civic duty, our medical students worked hand-in-hand with top-tier experts from Kira Hospital and Tanganyika Hospital, alongside a dedicated team from Croix-Rouge du Burundi. Together, they successfully provided:

🩸 Free Blood Sugar Testing to screen for early diabetes.

⚖️ Free Weight Checkups and BMI assessments for healthy lifestyle counseling.

❤️ Free Blood Pressure Monitoring to combat hypertension.

🤝 A Mass Blood Donation Drive that safely collected critical units to restock local blood banks.

🎯 An Extraordinary Showcase of Excellence: Relive Olivia University’s Students' Cultural Week! 🎓✨

From June 15th to June 19th, 2026, the Olivia University Bujumbura campus transformed into a vibrant hub of innovation, tradition, and leadership during our annual Students' Cultural Week under the theme "Academics | Culture | Talent".

Olivia University Bujumbura was deeply honored to host Prof. Leonidas Ndayizeye, the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Higher Education (CNES), as our Distinguished Guest of Honor during the official opening of our annual Students' Cultural Week.

On Tuesday, 16th June 2026, the Kenyan Ambassador to Burundi, His Excellency Ambassador Henry Wambuma, paid a courtesy visit to Olivia University Bujumbura. He was warmly received by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Michael Sanja, and the Director of Quality Assurance, Mr. Omondi Gwada, who also serves as the Chairman of the Association of Kenyans Living in Burundi.

During the meeting, the Kenyan Embassy proposed to engage key Kenyan institutions to support the university's development. If adopted, the collaborative effort will focus on expanding capacity and resources in the fields of engineering, mining, and health sciences.

The partnership will leverage existing, signed bilateral frameworks between Kenya and Burundi to enhance cross-border educational excellence
