Our future is at hand! ✋ October 15 is Global Handwashing Day, a global advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing to prevent diseases and save lives. 🦠🤧

Starting off 'Palms Month of Well-being' is our School Nurse, Ms Nayena, 👩‍⚕️ delivering a presentation on 'School Hygiene and Handwashing' raising awareness of good health and well-being in our community and encouraging good hygiene habits amongst students. 💛 Nurse Nayena will be visiting all classes throughout October, with healthy tips and educational videos. 👏

مستقبلنا بين أيدينا! ✋ يوم 15 أكتوبر هو اليوم العالمي لغسل الأيدي، يوم عالمي مخصص لمناصرة وزيادة الوعي وفهم أهمية غسل الأيدي للوقاية من الأمراض والحفاظ على الأرواح. 🦠🤧

نبدأ "شهر مدرسة النخيل للصحة" مع تقديم عرض عن التعقيم وغسل الأيادي في المدرسة مع ممرضتنا ناينا 👩‍⚕️ والمقصود منه نشر الوعي بالنظافة في مجتمعنا وتشجيع عادات النظافة الجيدة مع الطلاب. 💛 ستقوم الممرضة ناينا بزيارة لجميع الصفوف خلال شهر أكتوبر مع تقديم النصائح الصحية والمقاطع التعليمية. 👏

Nominations for this year’s Student Council took place this week! 🗳 Students in G4 – 6 were asked to nominate two students from their class to be considered as Student Council Representatives.👨‍💼👩‍💼 Once all the nominations have been processed, voting for students preferred representatives will take place before Student Council Representatives for the 2021/22 academic year are announced. 📢 Good luck to all! 🙌

The Palms Student Council gives students the opportunity to:

✅ be the ‘voice’ for students in Palms,
✅ develop student’s leadership skills, and
✅ contribute to the school community

Representatives meet regularly throughout the year to discuss topics put forward by their classmates and develop leadership and presentation skills through being members of the Council.

بدأت في هذا الأسبوع ترشيحات مجلس طلبة هذا العام الدراسي! 🗳 طُلب من طلاب الصفوف الرابع وحتى السادس ترشيح شخصين من صفهم باعتبارهم ممثلين مجلس الطلبة. 👨‍💼👩‍💼 حالما يتم معالجة جميع الترشيحات، سيتم التصويت للممثلين الأكثر تفضيلًا من قبل الطلبة ثم الإعلان عن أعضاء مجلس الطلبة للعام الاكاديمي 2022/2021 📢 حظ موفق للجميع ! 🙌

مجلس طلبة مدرسة النخيل يتيح للطلبة الفرصة ل:

✅ أن يكونوا "صوت" الطلاب في النخيل
✅ تطوير مهارات الطلاب القيادية
✅ المشاركة في مجتمع المدرسة

يلتقي الممثلين بشكل دوري خلال العام لمناقشة مواضيع تم تقديمها من قبل زملاءهم في الصف وبالتالي تطوير مهارات التقديم والقيادة من خلال كونهم اعضاء لهذا المجلس.

PIRLS Exams! 📑 In partnership with , Palms Schools fourth-grade students (2020/2021) participated in the PIRLS assessments on Monday, 27 September. 🙋‍♂️💁‍♀️

The Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) is an international comparative assessment 📊 that measures student learning in reading, 📚 coordinated by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA). The PIRLS assessment is a significant benchmark for Bahrain, 🇧🇭 which allows for a greater understanding of how the reading knowledge 📖 and skills of fourth-graders compare with fourth-graders from other countries around the world. 🗺 👏

اختبار PIRLS! 📑 بالتعاون مع وزارة التربية والتعليم، شارك طلاب الصف الرابع (2021/2020) في مدرسة النخيل في تطبيق اختبارات PIRLS في يوم الإثنين الموافق 27 سبتمبر. 🙋‍♂️💁‍♀️

يعد هذا الاختبار بمثابة دراسة عالمية لمستوى القراءة و الكتابة حول العالم 📚 وبتنظيم من المنظمة العالمية لتقييم التحصيل الأكاديمي. محليًا 📊 يعتبر اختبار "PIRLS" علامة فارقة ومميزة 🇧🇭 مما يساهم في مقارنة مستوى القراءة والكتابة لطلاب مملكة البحرين في الصف الرابع مع أقرانهم في الدول الأخرى 🗺 👏

Peace out! ✌️ Palms School celebrated ‘International Day of Peace’, ☮️ on 20-21 September, educating our students how to build resilience and how to transform our world into one that is more equal, more just, equitable, inclusive, sustainable, and healthier. 🌎

Students participated in awareness activities in class 🙋 and developed an understanding of ‘World Peace Day’, encompassing the Kingdom of Bahrain's Sustainable Development Goals facilitated by the . This particular event focused on promoting SDG #15: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions; 🕊 where students collaborated on a whole school level to create ‘Palms Peace Tree’, 🖐 a work of art that reflects the impact of teamwork and the power of peace. 🌳

السلام عليكم!✌️احتفلت مدرسة النخيل باليوم العالمي للسلام يومي 20–21 سبتمبر، ☮️ لتعليم طلابنا كيفية تحويل عالمنا إلى عالم أكثر مساواة، وأكثر عدلاً، وإنصافًا، وشمولاً، واستدامةً، وصحةً. 🌏

In collaboration with the National Initiative for the Development of the Agricultural Sector, 🌱 Palms School celebrated 'International Day of Clean Air for a Blue Sky', ☁️ on September 7-9, prioritizing the need for 'healthy air for all' and cultivating future youth activists for . 🌎

Students participated in a hands-on agricultural activity 🧑‍🌾 encompassing the Kingdom of Bahrain's Sustainable Development Goals facilitated by the . This particular event focused on promoting SDG #15: Life on Land, 🌳where students planted seeds of life 🪴 to place around the school, creating an environment rich in ingredients that make Palms School an ideal school environment. 🌈

شارك الطلاب في فعالية زراعية عملية 🧑‍🌾 تتماشى مع أهداف التنمية المستدامة لمملكة البحرين والأمم المتحدة. وتركز هذه الفعالية بالتحديد على الترويج لهدف التنمية المستدامة رقم 15: الحياة في البر 🌳 حيث زرع الأطفال بذور الحياة 🪴 حول المدرسة لخلق بيئة غنية بالمكونات مما يجعل بيئة مدرسة النخيل مثالية. 🌈

🔅Parents are not allowed into the school playground building when dropping off their children to avoid congestion and help with social distancing.

🔅Lessons start promptly at 7:30am; students arriving at school after this time will be marked as late.
 
🔅We have staff on each gate to bring your child out to you at dismissal, please give us your child’s name when you arrive and wait patiently for your child to be brought to you.  
 
Please remember that these measures are in place to help maintain the safety and wellbeing of everyone. 👍 Thank you for your cooperation.

What an exciting day! 🙌 The first day of PRIMARY SCHOOL! 🏫 On your first day at Palms School, 🌴 you met in your homeroom class, got acquainted with your new teachers, 👩‍🏫 found your seat and had your very first grade 1 lesson! 🍎 You made some new friends and bonded over lunch break, 👫 and before you knew it, you heard the school bell, 🔔 and it was time to go home! 🏡 We are so incredibly proud of our Grade 1 students as we we begin our new journey together. ☀️

‎ياله من يومٍ حافل! 🙌 أول يوم في المرحلة الابتدائية! 🏫 في يومكم الأول في مدرسة النخيل، 🌴 تقابلتم في فصولكم وتعرفتم على معلميكم الجدد 👩‍🏫 ووجدتم مقاعدكم وتعلمتم دروسكم في الصف الأول 🍎 كونتم صداقات جديدة وقويتم علاقاتكم خلال استراحة الغداء، 👫 ومضى الوقت سريعًا حتى الانصراف 🔔 وحان وقت الذهاب إلى المنزل! 🏡 كم نحن فخورون بطلبة الصف الأول ونحن نبدأ رحلتنا الجديدة معًا . ☀️
