🚀 Alumni Spotlight 🚀 Burhan Khalid | Class of 1997 |
Mr. Khalid’s time at Bahrain School was a transformative experience. “The incredible support from the staff and the diverse activities ignited a lifelong love for learning and equipped me with essential independent living skills. The bonds I formed, with my dorm parents and my fellow students, remain some of my most cherished.” said Mr. Khalid.
Beyond the classroom, extracurricular activities broadened his horizons. A particular highlight was the opportunity to produce Grease alongside the late Mr. Peterson – an experience that taught him teamwork and creative problem-solving. His participation in the MUN program was also impactful, refining his public speaking skills.
“Bahrain School fostered an environment where exploring diverse interests and embracing experimentation was actively encouraged. This freedom to delve into different passions was a significant advantage as I navigated my professional path.”
After two decades in the Middle East, Mr. Khalid returned to Bahrain to work at Amazon as a Senior Cloud Operations Architect.
“Each time I drive past Bahrain School, a wave of fond memories washes over me, reminding me of the pivotal role my time there played in shaping who I am today.”
“For those of you currently walking the halls of Bahrain School, here are a few tips based on my own experience:
- Embrace Every Opportunity: Bahrain School offers a wealth of extracurricular activities, from sports to clubs to dramatic productions. Dive into different activities – you never know what new passions you might discover or what skills you might develop.
- Build Strong Connections: The friendships you make here, especially if you’re in the boarding school, will be some of the most enduring. Cultivate relationships with your peers, your teachers, and your dorm parents. These individuals will be your support system, your collaborators, and often, lifelong friends.
- Cherish the Experience: Your time at Bahrain School is a unique and special chapter. Savor every moment. These years are forming the foundation for your future, and the memories you create will be ones you look back on with great fondness!”
