It was wonderful to welcome two of our lovely alumnae back recently, Ayesha Siddiqui & Priya Moodaley.
Ayesha was at St Chris from 2017-2022 whilst Priya attended from 2018-2022. Both students studied the IB programme and have gone on to study internationally. Ayesha is at the University of Toronto in Canada where she is pursuing a double major in History and English Literature whilst Priya is at the University of Sciences Po Paris, majoring in Politics and Law and minoring in International Trade and Finance.
We wish them well for the future.
Ayesha Siddiqui
My time at St Chris was nothing short of lovely. In addition to the IB programme being excellent preparation for coping with the demands of university, it is my teachers I am most grateful for. It was them who sparked and nurtured my interest in the subjects I am studying today, and who guided me throughout my St Chris journey.
Priya Moodaley
Reflecting on my time at St Chris, I cherish the wonderful memories and the profound impact it had on my journey. History, in particular, kickstarted my passion for politics, consequently shaping my university studies. The independence we were given during A Levels has made my transition to university life smooth and almost effortless, and I am forever grateful for the rewarding years I had at St Chris.

Year 12 St Chris IB students have successfully completed a significant community service initiative as part of their CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) requirement for the IB Diploma.
This year, the students organised a backpack drive for the Migrant Workers Protection Society (MWPS). MWPS requested rucksacks filled with 11 specific dry ration items to be distributed directly to migrant workers in need within the labour camps of Bahrain.
On June 26, 2024, the students visited the MWPS Office in Adliya with 55 rucksacks filled with the requested dry rations, along with an additional 40 bags of extra dry rations. Mudhavan, the General Secretary of MWPS, received the donations from St Christopher's students and explained how they would be distributed to those most in need. This initiative not only fulfilled a critical requirement for the students but also made a significant impact on the local migrant worker community.

It was amazing to welcome back this week one of our alumni who left in 2012, Jen Gilbert. She then attended Leeds University for Sports & Exercise Science followed by completing her PGCE in PE at Edge Hill Uni in Ormskirk, UK. Embarking on her 9th year of teaching PE thanks to her inspirational role models of PE teachers at St Chris she is now in her 5th year at the British School of Dhahran in Saudi Arabia where next year she has been appointed Director of Sport and Head of PE at BSD. She enjoyed catching up with Mr & Mrs Subbiani, Mr & Mrs Hobday, Mrs Al Rufai, Mr Plunkett, Mr Williams, Ms Chadwick and of course her fellow classmate Ellie Pearce!

Year 12 Travel and Tourism students visited Bahrain International Airport where they learned about the airport experience and what makes it a 5-Star Skytrax airport. We were taken to check-in and then airside and behind the scenes and enjoyed meeting all the superb staff. It was a great experience for our students and a useful insight into how Bahrain has created a world class airport.

The Senior Music Department was delighted to host the final St Chris Buskers concert of the year. This concert series provides an opportunity for students of all abilities to perform to an audience in an informal setting. We were delighted to see 22 students from Years 7-10 volunteering to perform in today’s event with a repertoire list that included Bach, Liszt, Adele and The Arctic Monkeys - to name just a few!
Congratulations to all of our superstar musicians who took part. We are very proud of you!

ALUMNI UPDATE: Meet Bernice Tsewole
“During my time at St Chris, particularly in my Theory of Knowledge and English Literature IB classes, I came to understand the profound impact of policy on people’s lives. It was during this time that I encountered the quote that best embodies this belief: ‘One line of policy can change a million lives.’
Despite my relatively brief two-year tenure at St Chris, the school will forever hold a special place in my heart. The friendships I made and the guidance of my teachers, along with the high-quality education I received, prepared me well for my ongoing studies at the University of Amsterdam.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thank you to all my teachers and mentors at St. Chris, and in particular, I’d like to express my deep gratitude to Ms. Orla Reilly!
Recently, I had the privilege of interning at the United States Congress for the Democratic leadership, Minority Whip Katherine Clark. The experience was both challenging and surreal, and it taught me numerous valuable lessons that continue to shape my professional and personal life. This opportunity to contribute to the St Chris alumni programme holds a special place in my heart because it was here that I discovered my passion for politics, which has since become my chosen career path.”
