🌱🇭🇺 Day 3 of the Study Visit in Pécs, Hungary – 04 June 2026
Today marked the third day of our study visit in Pécs, Hungary, organised by the South Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency (STRIA) (PP13) within the framework of the Dinamic Danube project.
As part of this study visit dedicated to the Circular Economy, we had the pleasure of attending an inspiring presentation about the Pécsi Kosárközösség (Pécs Basket Community)—a community-supported local food initiative that connects consumers directly with local farmers and producers. Through an online ordering and collection system, the community enables residents to purchase fresh, locally produced food while supporting small-scale agriculture, reducing transportation distances, and strengthening the local economy. The initiative serves as an excellent example of how sustainable consumption and short supply chains can contribute to a more circular and resilient food system.
🗣️The presentation was followed by an engaging Q&A session, providing participants with the opportunity to learn more about the community's operational model, the challenges and opportunities it faces, and its positive impact on local producers and consumers. The discussion sparked valuable exchanges of ideas and experiences among project partners from different countries.
Svetlomira Stoyanova from WeCreate joined the session online, taking part in the discussions and knowledge exchange with project partners and stakeholders from across the Danube region.
One of the greatest strengths of the Dinamic Danube project is the opportunity it creates for sharing experiences and learning from real-life examples. By engaging directly with the people and organisations that are creating tangible change on the ground, participants gain valuable insights into innovative approaches that support local producers, empower communities, and promote sustainable regional development.
🌊And of course, WeCreate is proud to welcome project partners and stakeholders to the beautiful seaside city of Варна (Varna), Bulgaria, from 15–17 July, for a study visit dedicated to Innovation, Policy & Governance.
Together, we continue building connections, exchanging knowledge, and advancing innovative solutions for a more sustainable and resilient Danube Region. 🌍♻️

European Parliamentary Research Service:

🌱 Оn March 14th, the WeCreate Bulgaria team explored an inspiring local initiative that is transforming how people connect with food, nature, and community.
Located in the Vladislavovo district, the Градско земеделие - 3C Humana Varna /3C Urban Gardening project (Cultivate, Climate & Community)/ gives city residents something truly valuable – the chance to grow their own food while learning and connecting with others. Through a two-year programme, participants gain practical and theoretical knowledge in ecological farming, supported by experts and a strong local network.
But this initiative is about much more than gardening. It creates a space where people reconnect with nature, exchange knowledge, and build a shared vision for more sustainable lifestyles. Many participants, who started with little experience, are now successfully producing food for their households – some even taking steps toward small-scale farming.
The project also opens its doors to the wider public through educational activities, helping raise awareness about urban agriculture and sustainable food systems.
For WeCreate, this initiative is highly relevant within the Dinamic Danube Project, especially in light of the upcoming study visit in Varna (15–17 July 2026), focused on Innovation, Policy & Governance. It showcases how community-driven innovation can evolve into impactful models that support sustainable development at multiple levels.
Meeting organisers, applicants, and active participants provided valuable insights into the full journey – from initial motivation to real-life implementation.
🌿 The 3C garden reminds us that even small urban initiatives can grow into powerful drivers of greener cities, stronger communities, and a more sustainable future.

At the same time, this global recognition strongly connects with the mission of Dinamic Danube.
The DINAMIC DANUBE project is a strategic partnership addressing socio-economic challenges in rural areas across the Danube Region. The project focuses on education, migration, minority employment, and agricultural development — key issues affecting small family farms, particularly in the Southeast Danube Region.
Today, small farms face serious challenges:
🔹 Skilled workforce migration
🔹 Aging rural populations
🔹 Limited adoption of modern technologies
🔹 Weak business support ecosystems
DINAMIC DANUBE responds with a holistic approach that combines:
✔️ Lifelong learning opportunities
✔️ Peer mentorship programs
✔️ Technological integration
✔️ Capacity-building initiatives
With a special emphasis on empowering female farmers, the project will directly engage small family farms across the Danube area, supporting innovation and resilience in underdeveloped and marginalized communities.
We are proud that WeCreate is the Bulgarian partner in DINAMIC DANUBE, actively contributing to strengthening rural communities and supporting women farmers as key drivers of sustainable agricultural development.
Together, we are building stronger farms, stronger communities, and a stronger Danube Region. 🌱
