📱 Facebook and Messaging Apps – Stay Safe Online
Facebook, Messenger, and WhatsApp help us stay connected with family and friends. Unfortunately, they are also common places where cybercriminals try to steal personal information or money.
Here are a few simple ways to stay safe:
🔹 Never click on suspicious links, even if they seem to come from someone you know.
🔹 Always verify who sent the message – your friend's account may have been hacked.
🔹 Never share SMS verification codes, passwords, or online banking details through messaging apps.
🔹 Use a strong password and enable two-factor authentication.
🔹 Review your privacy settings and limit who can see your personal information.
Remember – cybercriminals often take advantage of trust and emotions. A few moments of caution can protect your personal data and finances.
💙 Promoting digital literacy and cybersecurity among older adults is one of the main goals of the Mitigating Cyber Threats (MCT) project, implemented by Fundacja "Fundusz Inicjatyw" in cooperation with its Bulgarian partner under the Erasmus+ Programme. Together, we are developing educational materials and training that help seniors use the internet safely and confidently.
