We love this picture of program director Svetlana Smolina returning to the stage last week alongside the Vratsa Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Derek Gleeson. Svetlana gave a beautiful performance of Robert Schumann’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra.

Faculty member Hugh Sung plays Arcadi Volodos’ arrangement for piano of Rachmaninoff’s Cello Sonata Op. 19 - Andante, a piece of great technical difficulty. An acclaimed chamber musician and soloist pianist, Hugh Sung has performed in some of the most prestigious stages around the world. His skills and talent as a pianist combined with his knowledge of new technologies result in an innovative approach to piano education.

Meet Mike Lang, renowned pianist, recording artist, and accompanist! Praised for his style and versatility, Mike Lang has worked on stage and in the studio as a jazz, pop, classical and film music pianist. He has recorded more than 2000 scores, working with the most renowned film composers including John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, James Newton Howard, Henry Mancini, Elmer Bernstein, Hans Zimmer, with numerous screen credits for solo appearances. As an accompanist, he has joined legendary artists such as Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Vince Gill, InSync, Milt Jackson, Lee Konitz, Diana Krall, John Lennon, Arturo Sandoval, Barbra Streisand and Frank Zappa - to mention a few.

We’ll be at Winplus China this Friday presenting our innovative degrees for piano performance.
The Piano Academy offers a Master Degree with a Low Residency option and an Online Piano Artist Performance Graduate Diploma. Our MFA has the unique feature of offering the students the opportunity to perform a full piano concerto with a symphony orchestra and have their performance and graduation recital professionally recorded.

Meet Dr Oliver Salonga, renowned pianist, recording artist, pedagogue and Artistic Director of Hangzhou Souland Music Institute! Dr Salonga has performed in major concert halls around the world including Carnegie Hall, the Harmony Hall of Japan, Brahmssaal of Austria, Jeonju Symphony Hall of South Korea, Cultural Center of the Philippines, New South Wales Concert Hall of Australia, and Shanghai Oriental Arts Center and Shanghai Theater of China. Praised for his emotional energy, his performances have been awarded in numerous festivals and competitions. As a pedagogue, he regularly holds masterclasses in Asia, among them at China’s Ernst Piano Foundation Masterclasses Series, Korea’s EuroArts Academy Winter Festival, Thailand’s Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music and Yamaha Central Music Academy. We are very excited to have Dr Oliver Salonga as part of our faculty.
