4 astronauts are on the way to flyby the Moon for the first time since Apollo 17 in December 1972. This video shows stage separation. Ice particles make for a surreal scene as reflective pieces floating in space. This mission will fly humans the furthest from Earth in history.

Jeff Bezo’s Blue Origin has successfully landed the New Glenn booster after launching 2 NASA Mars spacecraft. It landed offshore on a landing ship, allowing Blue Origin to join SpaceX as the only companies that have landed an orbital class booster. This was only the 2nd flight for New Glenn. Reusability is now the new standard for companies competing in the space age.

Starship’s 11th flight test ended with a successful landing in the Indian Ocean after the best re-entry to date. It was the final flight of the Block 2 Starship. Areas of tile were deliberately off in key to stress test Starship’s resiliency. This seems to have worked out quite well with both survival and precision landing near pre-positioned buoys and drones. The biggest improvement I noticed is all 4 flaps seem to have made it intact while previous flaps had eroded with plasma. This was a great iteration for the heat shield team.

Here’s an awesome composite of this week’s total lunar eclipse showing the fiery red coloration of sunrises and sunsets. During an eclipse the Moon only receives scattered light reddened through Earths atmosphere.

Starship 24 and the Superheavy 7 full stack were treated to a lunar eclipse overnight where the Earth’s shadow crossed over the disk of the Moon. The full stack is currently in the process of being destacked to allow for more static fires.

This is the final full image of the Moonlet Dimporphos taken by DART before it collided with it. Engineers on the ground will now study doppler radio measurements to see how much the orbit of Dimorphos changed from the collision. We should know in a few more days how well the collision worked to alter the orbit.

Sailors on USS The Sullivans captured these breathtaking images downrange as Falcon 9 flew overhead. You can see the first stage flying back while the second stage carries on overhead carrying 52 Starlink satellites.

Here is a sequence showing Blue Origin’s in flight abort a few days ago. A solid rocket motor located inside the central part of the cabin ignited, pulling the capsule away to safety after New Shepherd’s engine appeared to disintegrate.
