First time to try my from .eu 😄

I love the fact that it’s sooo small that I can take it everywhere with me and still get to have a well functioning jig 😇

The bracelet is made with 3 paracord type 1 cords (burgundy, pastel pink and fuchsia). The weave/knot is called Snakes alive. It’s my second time making this one and I’m still learning new things throughout the whole proces. That’s great, because in that way I can not only teach others, but also give handy tips and insights 🤓

Did you know that this knot isn’t done when you’re at the end with no space left? To get it fully straight, you’ll have to take another tool to start at the beginning to lift every cord up and pulling it back untill you’re at the end again. A bit like loose shoelaces 👟

Saying yes to new adventures 💚

Ever since my first collar I have been a customer at .eu . A large assortment with all the colors of the rainbow, that was what I needed. About two years, many collars and a second 'business' later, I had a nice, personal conversation with them for the first time. Suddenly the 'normal webshop' became much more than that. I got to see the story behind all these cords and realized that all those people behind the scenes are actually very nice people, who put a lot of effort into making each individual customer as satisfied as possible! 😏

Fast forward to now, I can say with enormous pride that I will not only be a customer, but also an employee of . I'm going to chase my big dream and get to do what I love to do. Figuring things out, designing, improving... Together with my new, super fun colleagues 😍

My colleagues from the retirement home are close to my heart and I will visit them regularly, because they are only 10 minutes away. Rotterdam is a bit further 🙊

It's super exciting, but I can't wait to get started on my (our) new life 🥰

I know I know... It’s been quiet on our feed. That's because I had an operation (no worries, nothing special) and I'm still recovering. The weekend before my surgery, my boyfriend and I went for a walk with our dogs. It had been a long time since we actually got into the car to go for a walk (outside our village), so I was super happy! 😍 it was a lovely day and it's nice to post a picture of non-paracord related stuff from time to time.

I’m that kind of person who can sit and watch trees all day long. I Just trees, grass, birds, the sound of silent and everything in between. can confirm (he thinks I’m crazy because of this 🤣).

When I asked for subjects to write about, I got the question to make a post about the different forms of no-tick collars.
⁣
⁣First and for all: I 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 state that EM-beads are 100% effective. There’s no evidence based material yet about whether these are working or not.
⁣
⁣So let’s start exploring all these options when making no-tick collars. There are many different weaves/knots you can use to make them. I’ll list the most common knots below, but feel free to add new ideas in the comments! 👇🏻
⁣
⁣𝟙. ℂ𝕠𝕓𝕣𝕒 𝕜𝕟𝕠𝕥: I love to use this one when I’m working with type 1 paracord. In my opinion, type 3 isn’t as neat and I don’t like the big gaps you get around the beads. Using type 1 can cause the collar to be very slim. Some may say that using this type in combination with this knot, will cause the beads to break faster, but after making more than 200 pieces I can say that this has happend only once (these dogs were playing very wildly) 😆

⁣𝟚. 𝕊𝕟𝕒𝕜𝕖 𝕜𝕟𝕠𝕥: My dog is wearing a collar with this knot for over 1,5 year now and it’s still going strong! This knot is ideal in type 3 for larger dogs but also small dogs can be super cute with it. By pulling the individual knots a little further apart, the collar will get more flexible. In type 2, this effect is even stronger.

⁣𝟛. 𝔹𝕣𝕒𝕚𝕕: I’ve never used this technique, but I’ve seen it being used a lot by fellow knotters. Just like you would braid your hair, you now braid a little collar with beads around 1 strand.
⁣
⁣𝟜. ℕ𝕠𝕣𝕞𝕒𝕝 𝕔𝕠𝕝𝕝𝕒𝕣𝕤: There is also the option to put beads in normal collars. I do NOT do this, because I don’t like the idea that these beads are pushing into the throat of the dog when he/she pulls on the leash. There are lots of knots which are fit for the job, so use your imagination and try it yourself!

⁣Text below applies to people wanting to 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰 a (small) business. I’m not the one to judge whether you should (not) register 😌

⁣The fun stuff about registering (Uhu! There is a fun part to it 😂) is that
⁣you’re allowed to make as many advertisements as you want in any form! Next, you’ll probably get wholesale discount from your supplier and you can sell to other businesses (you can’t when not registered because there’s no invoice you can send). So that’s great news, isn’t it? 🙌🏻

⁣It’s not only important to register, so you are following the law. It’s also not fair for other small business owners when someone’s in the same field as them and they don’t have to pay for 👇🏻3️⃣ and you do. This is called unfair competition. Ofcourse there’s a difference when you’re not selling with profits.

⁣2️⃣ 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬
⁣Shipping is a « &&)&@&)? in the 🍑 if you’d ask me 🙄 I only ship to BE and NL right now, because I can’t seem to find an affortable way to ship outside these too. I once shipped to America and that costed €60 🤣

⁣3️⃣ 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
⁣A small part of this is discribed in part 1️⃣ but there are still a few things to think about:
⁣ 📝 insurance - what will happen when a dog breaks loose and causes a car crash, who’s to blame?
⁣ 📝 bookkeeping - you’re not obligated to pay for a bookkeeper, but you are to keep track on income and expenses
⁣ 📝 taxes - you can’t imagine how many there are 🤭

⁣We too often get to hear that our products are too expensive. Show clients this - small tbh - post and show where our energy and money is going to and hopefully they’ll change thoughts 🙌🏻 @ Membruggen, Limburg, Belgium

Workspace ... Something we are all looking for, but often unable to find. Before living in my own house, I worked at the diningtable in the kitchen. I had a small box containing all my materials 😌

In the house where we live now, we still have a surplus room for the time being, so that has now become my studio 😇 I do have the space now, but many who practice this hobby still have to look for ways to stock as much material as possible. Because admit, it doesn't stop with those few bundles, right? 🤣

In the photo above you can see how I stock some of my metals. This is a super handy system available in Ikea. You can expand this in the form you need so that you can make optimal use of your (small) space.

It is filled with stuff from .eu and 😍

Let’s start today with a cute paracord set! This one is going to Sky, a Australian Shepherd pup! Sky will still grow some cm’s, so his owners chose to let me make a collar with adjustable leather adapter.

I always recommend to wait with buying a custom made collar when pups are still growing. Why? Because when they grow, there will be less paracord in proportion with the total amount of collar.

Sky’s owners didn’t want to wait 🤭 So Sky is a lucky pupper, ain’t he? 🤩

How to make a safe collar - 𝟒) 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐲
⁣
⁣There’s been happening a lot of (great) things behind the scenes and that’s why this post was a little bit delayed 🤭
⁣
⁣So... finishing off a collar isn’t the easiest thing to do. For me, this was the hardest thing to learn. How do they do this? Where should my cords go? It’s soooo thick at the back! Should I burn them more? 🤯
⁣
⁣These are all questions that were going through my head at the time I was starting to work with paracord.
⁣
⁣A few mistakes that are often made:
⁣- not filling up the ring/buckle/loop
⁣- placing the cords in a way that makes the collar thick and bulky
⁣- putting the cords back too far
⁣
