🌍 What a great evening at the 𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐣𝐤 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 event hosted by Kortrijk Studentenstad .

It was wonderful to see so many international students come together, make new connections, and discover the many opportunities Kortrijk has to offer. From sports and culture to arts and student activities, local organizations showcased how international students can get involved and feel at home in the city. ✨

🙌 Why can we find VIVES in Lange Kruisstraat 25 in Ghent?

On Saturday, 20 September, we celebrated 80 years of diplomatic relations between Belgium and the Philippines. As part of this special occasion, a new plaque dedicated to José Rizal, the Philippine national hero, was officially unveiled in Ghent.

We are especially proud that students and staff from VIVES Technology, together with our partners from José Rizal University, contributed to this celebration by developing a virtual tour through Ghent, highlighting key locations connected to Rizal’s life and legacy.

The students had the honour of presenting their work at Ghent City Hall to a large audience, showcasing how technology, heritage, and international collaboration can come together.

Congratulations to our students for representing VIVES with such passion and professionalism!

🌍 A warm welcome to our international students
A new semester, a new home, and countless new adventures ahead.
This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming a new group of incoming students from all over the world to VIVES. They are about to embark a journey filled with inspiring encounters, new friendships, intercultural experiences, learning opportunities and, hopefully, plenty of unforgettable moments.
The students from campus Bruges were warmly welcomed in the City of Bruges, giving them the chance to get to know their new home and the city they will call home for the coming months.
Welcome to VIVES — and welcome to Belgium! 🌍

Today, we say goodbye to Eveline Le Roy, to a truly valued colleague who has dedicated many years to advancing internationalisation at VIVES.

Through endless commitment, passion, and belief in the power of international collaboration, she has connected students, colleagues, and partners across borders.

🌍 A great international start to the new academic year!
We were delighted to welcome President Dr. John Octavius S. Palina and Head of Internationalisation Dr. Clara M. Gonzales from Saint Mary's University in the Philippines as our first international partner visit of the academic year.
Bringing together the departments from Education, Healthcare and Applied Social Studies, the visit offered valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, strengthen connections and explore new avenues for collaboration.
Another step forward, many more to come!

It enables us to build meaningful, reciprocal partnerships across the globe - particularly with institutions in DAC countries - grounded in co-creation, knowledge exchange and impact.

From enabling student and staff mobility to strengthening collaborative learning initiatives and applied research, the Province’s commitment allows us to go for sustainable strategic international cooperation.

Within the ARTEMIS European University Alliance, (Belgium 🇧🇪), (Estonia 🇪🇪) and Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg (Germany 🇩🇪) are collaborating on the development of an innovative, technology-driven sandwich program. 💪
During this meeting, the partners will not only finalize further details regarding the program’s content, but they will also have the opportunity to get to know VIVES and Belgium better. 🌎
