Master of Science programme in Agro-and Environmental Nematology (former PINC & EUMAINE)

The International MSc in Agro- and Environmental Nematology is a unique master programme that brings together internationally renowned staff to train students in the broad field of Nematology and its many applications. Due to the wide spread of nematodes and their use as a model organism, the study programme and research is characterised by its multidisciplinary approach and applications giving major attention to agricultural and environmental issues such as sustainable pest management, crop protection, soil management, molecular and genetic studies to unravel host-parasite relationships and use of nematodes as bio-indicators to evaluate pollution in a diverse set of habitats and ecosystems such as terrestrial and aquatic habitats, tropical and temperate regions, and extreme environments. The programme includes training and research on the morphology, systematics and biology of plant-parasitic, insect parasitic and freeliving nematodes. Emphasis is placed on the acquisition of microscopy and molecular techniques and accurate identification skills, as well as problem solving practical applications and solutions in the area of agronomy and/or environment. MSc programme in English 2 years - 4 semesters -120 credits
SEM 1: compulsory basic and introductory courses in nematology
SEM 2 & 3: possibility to choose between 4 majors + summer course
SEM 3: possibility to study in other universities + professional internship
SEM 4: master thesis
