NEW VACANCY!
The Centre for Digitalisation, Democracy and Innovation (CD2I) at the Brussels School of Governance, the Centre for Studies in Media, Innovation and Technology (SMIT), both at VUB - Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and the HUMAINT project of the Digital Economy Unit, Joint Research Centre (JRC) site in Sevilla, European Commission, are calling for applications for one full-time doctoral researcher on the topic of trustworthy artificial intelligence. Prospective PhD candidates are hereby invited to submit project proposals by 15 December 2021.

Created in 1971 as the Programme on international and Legal Cooperation ( ), our LLM in International and European Law is one of the most established LLMs of its kind. This year marks the 50th anniversary of this internationally renowned programme.
In the last 50 years, more than 1300 lawyers from 110 countries graduated from this established LLM, creating a vast alumni network. Some of our alumni continued their careers in prominent positions in various European and international institutions as well as private companies and governments as prime ministers, judges and even presidents.

NEW VACANCY❗The Brussels School of Governance at the VUB - Vrije Universiteit Brussel is looking for a Communication Assistant for the period 15 January – 31 August 2022 (some flexibility in these dates). The position is for a 100% FTE, although candidates who could work 80% will also be considered.
As part of the BSoG’s Marcom team, the Communication Assistant will perform a diverse range of online and offline communication related tasks about our School’s education, research and services activities. Main tasks will include: designing a multitude of (mainly digital) items (promo banners, brochures, reports, etc.), daily social media management, website content updates, and setting up e-mail marketing campaigns.

The Brussels School of Governance is pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. Liliana Lizarazo Rodriguez as the new Director of its LLM in International and European Law programme. Prof. Lizarazo Rodriguez is a Research Professor in sustainable development law at the Brussels School of Governance. She is also an expert in the areas of Business & Human Rights, law and sustainable development and judicial adjudication. At the BSoG, she is also the principal investigator of the ERC funded CURIAE VIRIDES project that conceptualizes the worldwide progressive transformation of human rights litigation into more ecocentric litigation and the role of courts in addressing ecological governance gaps. Liliana obtained her PhD at the Department of Interdisciplinary Study of Law, Private Law and Business Law of the Universiteit Gent. She is looking forward to supporting all the students and colleagues who are part of the programme! 🤝
