Only 4 days left to the event organised by the Romanian-Speaking Society🇷🇴🇲🇩 with our partners at the EPP Society🇪🇺

Following the recent decision of the EU Council to give the green light to Moldova🇲🇩 and Ukraine🇺🇦 to open accession negotiations, and granting Georgia🇬🇪 candidate status, we saw the need to open a platform for open dialogue on the capacity of candidate countries to join the EU, as well as to discuss the readiness of the EU to adapt to changes that may and will come.

The event will take place on the 23rd of January, between 20:00 and 22:00, in AUD2 in VE.

Yesterday, the Romanian-Moldovan society 🇷🇴🇲🇩 was honoured to attend the plenary session of the European Parliament, to follow the speech of the President of the Republic of Moldova - Maia Sandu, who openly promoted and clearly defended Moldova's path towards accession to the European project. It was inspiring to see how a true leader who is determined to bring EU values to its home-country is received in the house of European democracy.

Following the speech, we had a fruitful dialogue with Romanian MEPs on the geopolitical context, the neighborhood policy and security risks in the region, migration policy, the economic and agriculture crisis, as well as the ways in which Romania can better assist Moldova’s current needs and facing challenges.

We would like to sincerely thank all the speakers and organisers for finding time to speak with us so openly and constructively about our European visions in this dialogue. Particular gratitude to Ramona Strugariu Siegfried Mureșan Corina Cretu and Alin Mituța for your elevated interest in our ideas and questions addressed. It was a true pleasure to see your enthusiasm and continuous support for Moldova in such difficult times, coming all the way from the heart of the EU.

And this is a wrap for our Eastern European National Week 2021-22!💫🇬🇪🇲🇩🇷🇴🇺🇦

It has been an intense week but surely full of rewarding joy and Eastern European love for our fellow College of Europe students.❤️🇪🇺

Our traditions, culture, history, political insights, but also delicacies were proudly shared throughout these days with students of Éliane Vogel-Polsky promotion. Although the deadlines are approaching, we have seen remarkable interest for our organised events - for which we are incredibly thankful.

🤩We launched the week with an Eastern European Quiz, then continued with a high level Panel discussion with distinguished guests (the Rector, Ambassadors and MEPs) which resulted in a highly fruitful dialogue👏🏼💬.

🥘Our national lunch was comprised of an intrinsic part of our shared culture - ‘mămăliga with friptură and smântână’💛whereas the vegetarian option could immerse you into Gergian gastronomy with famous and beloved ‘khachapuri’ 🇬🇪 and authentic Ukrainian ‘borscht’🇺🇦🥣.

🍷We also hosted a wine tasting event thanks to our responsive and generous sponsors. A special gratitude is expressed to Purcari Wines Radacini Combinatul de Vinuri "CRICOVA" S.A. Gitana Winery 1953 Chateau Vartely Winery Castel Mimi Asconi Winery Fautor Wines by Flow for all the exquisite wine provided but also to Rifero ROM Autentic who sweetened our days 🍬.

💃🏽The concluding dancing workshop followed by a bar night made us all dance and sing under the well-known Eastern European beats of “ma-ia-he ma-ia-hu” but also more!

De 1 Martie, România, Moldova și Bulgaria salută venirea primăverii cu un Mărțișor - tradiția fiind inclusă în lista patrimoniului imaterial al UNESCO.

Studenții Colegiului Europei au avut ocazia să cunoască legenda și semnificația mărțișorului, alăturându-se celebrării renașterii naturii prin purtarea unui talisman format dintr-un fir alb și roșu. 🤍♥️🌱

Pe lângă un simbol de prosperitate, noroc și sănătate, dorim ca în acest an mărțișorul purtat lângă inimile noastre să ne aducă și speranțe de pace. 🕊

La 103 ani de la Marea Unire a României, într-un oraș mic din nord-vestul Belgiei, Bruges, s-au adunat studenți români dornici să înțeleagă trecutul, prezentul și viitorul țării noastre într-un context atât european, cât și internațional. Astăzi, într-o zi importantă de celebrare pentru România, tânăra generație din străinătate rămâne cu gândul la oameni și locuri românești, la sărbătoare și la sentimentul de bucurie de acasă. Cu mult dor de casă și cu această ocazie, dorim să transmitem un călduros la mulți ani tuturor românilor!

La mulți ani, România! La mulți ani, români de pretutindeni!

We are honoured to have received the continued support of Dr. Liliana Țuroiu, President of ICR Bruxelles in backing a number of initiatives together with the College of Europe to establish scholarships for Romanian students and researchers in public and cultural diplomacy! Don’t forget to join us tonight for the vernissage of the Photography Exhibition “Portraits de paysans” by Aurel BAUH (1900-1964) showcased within the EUROPALIA Arts Festival, and with the kind support of the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR Bruxelles) .

The exhibition will be followed by a traditional food and wine tasting provided by the Moldovan Embassy in Bruxelles and the Zaraza Shop in Bruges! Vă așteptăm!

Vă invităm la o expoziție de fotografie de Aurel BAUH (1900-1964), un fotograf român-francez, din colecția Muzeului Național al Țăranului Român din București. Expoziția a fost adusă la Bruges și va fi prezentată în cadrul Festivalului de Artă EUROPALIA România.
Alături de acestea vor mai fi expuse câteva panouri cu fotografii si informații despre colecția permanentă a MNIR ce prezintă obiecte de patrimoniu românesc.
Vernisajul va fi urmat de o degustare a vinurilor moldovenești și românești, oferită de sprijinul misiunii moldovenești în UE și al Ambasadei Republicii Moldova în Belgia, precum și cu ajutorul Asociației Alumni Româno-Moldovenești din Colegiul Europei.
