VECTOR is the acronym of ‘A Vocational and Educational Curriculum Design from a Sector Skills Alliance on Tourism’ and is funded by the programme ERASMUS+.

Have you heard the news? Vector project will be part of Fiera Didacta Italia this year as well! Fiera Didacta Italia is the yearly german-shaped education fair dedicated to school and university, will take place in Florence at Fortezza da Basso, 18th-20th of October.
Back to Vector, the 19th of October there will be a workshop chaired by the Università degli Studi di Firenze partner: “Destination Manager and the experience of Vector project: a new e-learning tool”. Is this the perfect time to present the Destination Manager curriculum, isn't it?

It's almost time for a summer break, but before that, the Vector team is happy to announce that next September will attend an Errin (European Regions Research & Innovation Network) inter-group workshop related to the "European Year of Cultural Heritage".
The goals of the workshop are to show concrete examples of how new technologies are used to develop an "Experience Economy", inspiring good practices for regions on how to boost experience industries as enablers of cultural heritage offers, and to promote new proposals for specific themes, presenting funding opportunities.
Vector project will be an example of an "e-learning" good practice for cultural managers to develop smart destinations that suit the new parameters related to the Experience Economy.

From 17th till 20th of April the 6th project meeting of Erasmus+ Vector took place in Florence, where the italian partners (Regione Toscana, TÜV Thüringen Italia, Università degli Studi di Firenze and our Foundation) welcomed both project partners and students from the pilot course for Destination Manager.

During the Conference a certificate awards ceremony for the 18 students from Portugal, Spain and Italy who completed the modules of the pilot project was organized. Also, public and private entities within the tourism world signed a statement of intent related to the course for Destination Managers. In alphabetical order, here the signing entities: Firenze Convention Bureau, Florencetown, Fondazione Sistema Toscana, Regione Toscana, Toscana Promozione Turistica

Next week Vector project partners will meet in Florence for the conclusion of the first pilot test and for the 3rd International Conference on Destination Management, which will be held the 20th of April in Sala Pegaso, in Piazza Duomo 10.
The event will gather together international experts, regional/national policy makers and companies working within tourism sector to discuss how the new "destination managers" will be able to valorize, promote and develop tourism in both a local and global level.
The conference will be also the event in which tuscany public and provate stakeholders will sign a collaboration document with the Vector consortium,with the aim to promote the outcomes of the project.

As newspapers state, 2017 was a great year for Italian museums and for tourism in general, and Florence was one of the favourite destinations in Italy, confirming its high potential in attracting tourists from all over the world.
2018 is the year in which Vector project partners will capitalise the efforts and the outcomes obtained, so to exploit the positive results achieved from the cultural attractions and specifically from Florence.
