❔What is the place of faith in education today?
In a world that often measures everything by usefulness and performance, this thought-provoking article from 📰 La Civiltà Cattolica invites us to ask a different question: Is faith not simply "useful," but essential for the integral formation of the human person?
A worthwhile read for everyone involved in Jesuit and Catholic education, it offers profound reflections on the relationship between faith, education, hope, and the mission of our schools.
Many thanks to Fr Álvaro for sharing this important reflection 🙏

🌍📚 As we prepare for the JESEDU-Global Congress in Montreal 2027, the Jesuit Global Network of Schools is launching a worldwide survey and discernment process.
This initiative is an invitation to listen, learn, and reflect together on how Jesuit education is responding to today's challenges and opportunities, while helping shape our shared priorities for the years ahead. The voices of school leaders and educators from across the globe will play a key role in this journey.

🤝 One mission, many apostolic works!
😊 One of the best parts of our last week time in Brussels was the opportunity to meet colleagues from other Jesuit organisations and learn more about the amazing work happening across Europe.
We started the day with Fr. Dalibor Renić SJ, President of the Jesuit Conference of European Provincials (Jesuits in Europe) and the JECSE. It was a great chance to hear his perspective on our network, share what is happening in Jesuit education, and learn more about the wider mission of the Society of Jesus in Europe.
We then visited our friends at Jesuit Refugee Service Europe - JRS and Jesuit European Social Centre, where we exchanged ideas, shared experiences, and discovered new opportunities for collaboration.
To finish the day, we stopped at the Chapel for Europe— a beautiful place to pause, reflect, and give thanks for all the inspiring people we had met along the way.
A big thank you to everyone who welcomed us so warmly. Encounters like these remind us how much we can learn from one another when we take the time to meet, listen, and share.

🤩 What happens when the JECSE team comes together in one place?😍
Last week in Brussels 🇧🇪, it meant days filled with reflection, planning, creativity, collaboration, and many meaningful conversations.
As we prepare for a busy year ahead, we took time to review our priorities, coordinate upcoming programmes and gatherings, reflect on our evolving team structure, and strengthen the foundations of our work serving Jesuit and Companion schools across region.
But not everything happened around a meeting table. Sharing meals, stories, and moments of laughter reminded us that strong relationships are at the heart of every successful network 🥳
This gathering was also a bittersweet one, as we said goodbye to our colleague Debora, who is embarking on a new professional journey. Debora, thank you for your dedication, friendship, and the countless ways you have contributed to JECSE 🙏 You will always remain part of the JECSE family, and we wish you every success in this new chapter 🙏
A special word of gratitude to the Jesuits in Europe office & St. Benedict Community for hosting us during these days and for making us feel so welcome 🫶

🎉 On Tuesday, 2 June, the 2026 edition of the **JECSE training programme "IPP in the Classroom"** came to a successful close.
Over the past six months, fourteen teachers from SAFA Sevilla - Nuestra Señora de los Reyes (Spain) and Colégio São João de Brito (Lisbon) have journeyed together through a process of learning, reflection, and exchange. Together, they explored how the **Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm (IPP)** can continue to enrich classroom practice and strengthen our shared mission as educators.
We are grateful to all participants for their commitment, openness, and willingness to learn from one another across borders. Their engagement is a beautiful example of how our network grows stronger when we share experiences and reflect together on the mission entrusted to us.
Congratulations to all who completed the programme, and thank you for helping bring Ignatian pedagogy to life in your schools every day!
