Area B5 Toastmasters Competition during St Valentine
Dacia Toastmasters is a relatively young club - less than 10 years since its charter and we have had our share of strong years and also challenging years.
And yet… every single year, we bring home awards🎉🎉🎉
This year was no exception.
🥇 Sergiu Calmic won 1st place in the French Speech Contest. His speech was absolutely fulminant and phenomenal - making the audience laugh wholeheartedly while reflecting deeply on uncomfortable truths, masterfully sprinkled with his sharp wit and intelligent humor. That rare balance between comedy and meaning? He owned it.
🥈 Lavinia Lavicin earned 2nd place in Tall Tales.
She delivered a fantastic story where the animal kingdom came alive - personified with human traits, emotions, and contradictions. Her speech carried emotional variety, imagination, and charm. It was playful, expressive, and beautifully constructed.
🥉 Monica Dimitriu, took 3rd place in the International Speech Contest. She offered the audience a wide palette of stage movement, physical anchors, strong body language, vocal variety, eye contact, layered emotions - and a powerful message that gave people something to truly think about - the 6 sense… intuition!
But beyond placements…
The three speeches representing Dacia Toastmasters Club at Area B5 were of exceptional quality.
They were structured, based on the rule of 3 and on all the powerful elements of public speaking that toastmasters is teaching and they were intentional and impactful.
💎💎💎They were at a World Championship level!
What makes us proud is not just the trophies.
It’s that Dacia continues to produce strong competitors - speakers others respect, sometimes even fear - because they know they will meet substance, presence, and excellence on that stage.
At the same time Samuel Kazan was a judge for Area B2 and a great supporter! Thanks, Sam!
Congratulations, Sergiu, Lavinia and Monica.
Dacia keeps rising.
