You ever felt more alive abroad than you do at home? 🌴
Like something just clicks there. You feel lighter, more present, more like yourself, more alive. I had that feeling in Brazil. I spent 6 months there in 2019 and life actually felt exciting again.
When I came back to Belgium, the contrast couldn’t be bigger. I went straight back into routine, back to working, back to a life that just felt… flat. And I couldn’t ignore that feeling anymore.
And even when I tried to change things… nothing really changed.
I worked more. Took on more. Tried different things. But it always came down to the same thing:
More work…
More hours…
No real progress towards the life I actually wanted. 🌴
That’s when I realised something important: it’s not just the country, it’s the way we live.
Because even if I moved to Brazil, I’d still be stuck working, still trading time for money, still living someone else’s schedule working for a boss. Different place, same life.
And that didn’t make sense to me. I didn’t just want to move abroad, I wanted to actually live there. I wanted time, freedom, the ability to come and go whenever I wanted, without feeling stuck again in a different version of the same life.
If you’ve ever felt this, like you’ve seen what life could be like but you’re back in a life that no longer fits anymore, you’re not the only one.
